Missions start at home. Locals reaching locals.
Why a short term mission to our own cities? Aren't mission trips like this supposed to be overseas? There are three reasons that answer that question.
1) Overseas short term mission trips are expensive. Often they require: leave from work, flights, accommodation, and other expenses. Going on a short term mission to your own city only requires leave from work - it's so much cheaper!
2) For this reason, often short term missions are seen as an opportunity for an intrepid experience rather than a gospel opportunity. It's important that our motivation is right in this regard.
3) Locals need the gospel just as much as people overseas!
For these reasons, this mission is designed as an opportunity for locals to focus on reaching locals with the gospel. Although, all are more than welcome to be involved, but you will need to organise your own transport and accommodation (although we will do our best to assist you with this!) (We also run overseas short term mission trips to Myanmar that you would also be welcome to join.)
You are welcome for as many or as few days (or even half days) as you can commit to. No experience required. Contact us if you have any questions, we will respond with further details.
This is an Operation 513 outreach in conjunction with local churches.
