We have only looked at 5 out of 10 Commandments, and any reasonable person would have to admit that they fall well short of perfection. And the rest of the 10 Commandments do not bear good news either. How many times have we desired something that doesn't belong to us? How many of us can honestly say that we have honoured our parents without fail? When we create in our own mind an image of God that does not fit the description of the Bible, are we not creating an idol in our own mind? How many of us rush through life without pausing to reflect on God's provision and kindness towards us? And how many of us live our lives as if the centre of the universe passes through our forehead and God is therefore not the first in our lives?
Because we are sinners we commit sin, and that makes us wicked in the sight of the infinite Holy God, and because God is good and just He must punish sin wherever it is found, and the problem is that you are full of sin so God will be forced because of His goodness to send you to hell.
