The end of another week of God’s amazing patience.  Another week where we were able to declare the great just and mercy of God.  This week followed the usual schedule: Tuesday and Saturday in Riccarton; Friday and Sunday in the Central City.

The details of Tuesday’s outreach are growing dim, but there were a couple of highlights.  It was great having Roger there with me :)  Roger’s persistence and energy encourages me!

My first interaction was with an elderly lady.  By the way she was walking, I was pretty sure she wouldn’t stop, but I offered her a tract as she went past.  To my surprise, she did stop.  She didn’t believe in God, but even if there was, she considered herself a good person.  I was briefly able to challenge her with the law of God which did its job well, and so she was listening when I explained about Jesus.  Before I knew it, she was on her way again (a couple of minutes max) with a tract in her hand.  I was encouraged, because the gospel is the power of God for salvation!

Soon after I had 4 teen kids stop.  2 guys and 2 girls.  It turns out the girls had done the flip chat 3 times before (I think they said 3), but they wanted me to explain it to the 2 guys.  After 5 minutes of discussion, they asked if I could turn my flip chart around so they could sit in the seats behind.  No problem! :)  They sat in the seats, and I sat on the pavement, explaining the gospel.  What a privilege.

The two guys were resistant.  One was giving silly responses, the other one asked hard questions – it was so good seeing the look of comprehension and challenge on his face as I did my best to answer him, and take him through the law and the gospel.

But it was actually the two girls that were really paying attention.  One of them in particular.  I was so encouraged to hear she had attended a local church, and they had given her a Bible that she was reading occasionally.  So, I was able to continue ministering to them, and encouraging them.

Later in the outreach, it was getting dark when I had a great opportunity to share the gospel with a young high school student who is planning to go to medical school.  Early in the conversation, a guy I had talked to before came past and stopped to listen, he then interrupted me and asked me not to condemn anyone.  But just at that moment, Roger appeared; I signaled for Roger to talk to the interrupter, so I could focus on the high school student.  It worked!  The high school student stayed, not to be condemned (he already is), but to hear of the mercy of Jesus.

Friday was wet, but there was an opening in the weather in the afternoon that allowed Andy and I to head into the city to minister the gospel.  We didn’t have flipcharts and so were mobile.  Starting at the Bridge of Remembrance, I decided to open air preach to those passing by.  I didn’t preach for long, maybe 10 minutes.  Early on a lady stopped to listen, and ended up talking to Andy.  My guess was that she was against what I was saying.  But afterwards, she came over to encourage me!

Andy and I headed down to Colombo Street, where we both had multiple opportunities to talk with people.  I was able to talk to a couple new streeties, as well as have a follow up chat with a streetie I had talked to last week - sadly, she is going back to court and likely prison next week :O  She didn’t want to talk for long, but she did take 2 types of gospel tract with her as she left me.

We moved on to the Square, which was empty.  We had a bit of a strange encounter with two guys that seemed to be on drugs sadly, we decided to move on.  At this point, Andy had to leave to go to a work function.  I ended up back at Colombo street where I had an intense conversation with another streetie to end the outreach.

Saturday had rain forecast to start part way through the outreach, but I headed out anyway.  I was so excited to have a member of my church join me!  It was so awesome to have her with me. :)  The outreach started a little slow, but that was okay, it gave me the time to explain the ropes.

But then two people went past, one of whom was a jogger.  I didn’t think she would stop and I thought the other person would.  But to my surprise, it was the jogger that stopped!  She had a Christian background, and was even attending a couple of churches.  But very early on it was evident she had deep questions.  She was struggling with the issue of injustice.  I did my best to answer her questions, as well as explaining the law and the gospel.

It was during that chat that I noticed one of my regular streeties.  When the jogger moved on, I was able to speak with him.  He asked me to pray for him, and a difficult situation he is dealing with - I was happy to do that.  And it was at this point that another guy stopped.  Turns out it was a fine young Christian man who had a chocolate bar for me!  When it rains it pours! :)  Anyway, I was able to continue the chat with the Streetie.  I was able to give him my #, and a contact card for my church.

The outreach continued, but the actual rain had arrived, and it was getting worse.  I moved the flip chart to a more sheltered spot, but the fish weren’t biting, except for accepting tracts.  So we decided to end the street outreach early.

The Streetie came back, and I offered him a ride back to where he was staying (it was on the way), and during that time I continued to minister the gospel to him.  He’s staying only about 500m from where my church meets, and I invited him along (sadly, he didn’t turn up).

So, now I’m up to today’s outreach.  It was so busy!  It ended up going for 30 minutes longer than usual.  I had 3 other Christians with me - which was so good!

I was explaining the flip chart to the 3 Christians when a guy stopped and expressed interest, he was keen to go through it!  And then a young family stopped to engage as well.  So there were now 9 people around the flip chart.  Well, a crowd draws a crowd, so 2 others stopped as well, and then another.  That’s a dozen!  I couldn’t hold them all.  As the family left, they took tracts.  But the original guy, and 2 others stayed to hear the law and the gospel.  It was so good!

Later, I was talking to a couple of Christians who had stopped when suddenly a group of Muslim boys stopped to do the flipchart.  It was a great chat!  I could see them understanding the gospel and being challenged by the truth of it, and also the cost of accepting it.  Only a couple of those boys accepted tracts at the end.

The outreach ended with a long chat with a couple of guys.  One was Presbyterian, but going to a Catholic school, the other was Atheist (although actually agnostic).

Those are just the highlights of the day.  But the thing I was aware of the most is how practical and applicable the book of Romans is.  My church is studying this book at the moment, and today the preacher taught Romans 1:18-23.  As I was on the streets today, I was so aware of how often I indirectly refer to what is taught in this passage, over and over in my conversations with people.  And also how powerful it is!

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday July 6th, 2022 from 1300 – 1500

Praise be to God that the weather dramatically turned fine with sun coming up over the morning overcast cloudy weather. I also thank God that my fitness and spirit remained high after this morning BCG Chemo procedure. Again, because of school holiday break, both Gary and Amy were not available so just Johnny and Hung teamed up as usual at the Sunnybank Plaza side Bus stop. Though unavoidably there were still a few rejections, but the warm and sunny afternoon weather light up the heart of most people to be willing to engage in a sort of chat with mixed results. Above all, even no one responded, the messenger would still be blessed for doing the bottom-line blessing kind of Gospel outreach. Recap below is the battle log of Hung: -

1 ) Will, a Muslim young African man, realized we are all sinners. But the Muslim view of sin is greatly different from Christianity. They classify sin into the category of Intentional, a bigger sin, and unintentional, a lesser sin. By repentance not doing it again will lessen the degree of sin and finally Muslim ask God, their Allah for forgiveness. I asked him how does Allah forgive our sin on what basis. Is there punishment or consequence of sin. Then Will could not answer as such seeing the difference between the issue of sin and how it is addressed. Bus came and Time up, but Will was so appreciative for the chat as such taking a selfie with me.

2 ) Jason a Singaporean of Buddhism background. He kept stressing that he is a Buddhist follower as such he does not need to hear the gospel. Despite of initial rejection, God still softened his heart to let our conversation going on. I made him realize Buddhism is actually not a religion as it does not have a God head. Then he started to follow me as well as the gospel which he finally took a tract to ponder more.

3 ) Taiwanese origin Filipino showed initial avoidance but was fully convinced later asking for a tract when the bus came.

4 ) A Chinese lady took a tract and reluctantly listened to the gospel without much facial expression till the bus came.

5 ) A local Aussie girl refused to talk about God but I still got a chat with her to guide her ponder about judgment after death. I divert to the issue of the Independent Spirit of most Australian that is the seed bed of atheism or anti- institutionalism. Through this mutual identification, her heart was softened to take in the gospel message and left with a tract.

6 ) It was likely a catholic Christian From Filipino saying god bless me at the end of our hasty sharing of the core gospel message.

7 ) An elderly appeared to be dumb, or a disguised to not talking still took in some gospel message that I still endeavour to proclaim it to him.

8 ) Sister Li李大姊,her time of transit between two bus was too quick to allow a to the point conversation. Johnny suggested me to find another chance to chat with her to test if she has really received Christ. 還未測試到是否已信主

9 ) Three very arrogant Chinese ladies pretended not Chinese speaking, but their lousy English betrayed them. So just had to let go for those who are determined to despise the gospel.

10 ) Juno, a mixed Samoa father and Afghanistan mother who knows the gospel very well though still a non -believer. I nevertheless still went through the full gospel with him and I have the gut feeling that he was a step closer to Jesus' redemptive grace.

11 ) I approached a Local Aussie girl and a tom boy Chinese lady. The Aussie girl was open to the gospel but the Chinese girl a bit reluctant. But only the nutshell was shared but they took both the Chinese and English tracts.

12 ) I approached two Chinese UQ students from Fuzhou. One is open and welcoming another try to avoid by getting her friend to leave doing shopping.

13 ) Then I caught up with Madam Zheng from Taiwan. 張台灣, we chatted a while on common history of Taiwan and Hong Kong 聊港台的事 which closely bound us together. I anyhow had no time yet to touch on the Gospel. Madam Zheng bet to meet with me again next week.

14 ) Johnny referred Mr Yan甄 who is from Quang Zhou and once worked in South Africa for three years.南非民工 During that time,Chinses pastor did approach him so he admitted he heard of the gospel before.有聴過福音廣東人. Pray for God continuous guidance and show off His Mission Power.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday July 5th, 2022 from 1330 – 1500

It was a most chilling early winter afternoon with soaking rain making the outreach most unfavorable, yet the three of us Johnny, Winnie and Hung were not deterred to be excused for this committed outreach mission at Toowong. There were much less people flow. The keenness for people to response were hammered by the dull and cold weather. I purposely gave Johnny and Winnie the priority to approach who ever arrived at the bus stop. I had comparatively less chance to do a full conversion, which however was recap as follows: -

1 ) Natalie a UQ student girl from HKG. She responded to me gleefully and declared herself a Christian very quickly. I turned to test her assurance of salvation which she indicated only about 80 %. Thus spent time to clarify for her this misconception and stressed to her don't leave a foot hold to Satan to accuse her because of her status in flesh is still not perfect but she must cling on to Jesus who has 100% saved her and guarantee to her the heavenly citizenship the moment she received Christ.

2 ) Rejected or ignored by several

3) Then approached one girl from China who took the tract but was too busy to chat long as she was texting someone.

4) Another rejection

5) Approached a Lebanon man but only got the gospel sharing half done as his bus arrived.

6) A cheerful country boy Norm from Mission Beach, showed great friendliness to stop listening music for having a chat with me. He delightful accept the gospel and the tract and was happy to take a selfie with me.

7) Another Taiwanese girl who has no religious background but still listened to my full gospel sharing though without much eagerness.

Yeah, a really action packed week of street and online outreach.  Just focusing on the street work, I don’t think I’ll be able to articulate it all to you in the hour I have to write this, but I’ll do my best! :)

So, I was able to make it to all four regular street outreaches this week.  Roger couldn’t make it on Tuesday, so I was on my own at Riccarton.  Andy, Roger, John and I were in the city on Friday.  I was on my own again on Saturday lunchtime in Riccarton, and there was a good team in the city on Sunday afternoon - a total of 6.

So, starting in Riccarton on Tuesday.  It was a dreary day.  Not raining, but it had been, and it was cold and grey.  The outreach started slow, and I was beginning to wonder if I should have stayed home and worked online, when a school kid turned up.

It was so funny, because he came to me out of pity!  He was so nice, a Christian who saw me standing on the corner of the street with my flipchart in the cold, and he decided he was going to hop off his bus and come to pray for me!  I let him do that, and then we had a brief chat where, of course, I checked his understanding of the gospel.  His initial answer wasn’t clear, and so I started to ask questions when he suddenly said, “It’s not because of my works, but because Jesus died on the cross for me”.  Good answer!  :)  We continued to chat for a bit before he had to head off and catch the next bus.  He left with a tract and a challenge to join me in sharing the good news of Jesus.

Not long after he left, I had 5 Christchurch Boys High School guys stop to chat.  The conversation was going well, where I was working on getting them engaged on the important topic of what happens after life, when suddenly a lady stopped and interjected herself into the conversation.  The things she was saying were abrupt, and everyone became uncomfortable.  Amazingly, the kids hung around for a bit.  But eventually they left.  I think the lady was happy, because she wanted to talk with me.  Sadly she was drunk.  She called herself a satanist.  She talked about her life, and all the terrible things she had done.  And then, amazingly, she declared how good of a person she was!  She wasn’t in a stable state of mind, and so I had to be very careful in how I said what needed to be said.  But I was faithful in explaining how she is not good, and how she deserves hell.  At this point she started talking about how she had just stolen things from Riccarton Mall!  She even showed me these items.  I told her she needed to take them back.  She refused, and then continued to talk about how unfair life is, and how all her problems were the fault of others.  So sad.  Thankfully the long chat came to an end.  I touched on the gospel, but she really wasn’t read for it.  So I gave her two types of gospel tract.  I was surprised when she accepted them, and tucked them into her bag.  God willing, she will eventually read them, when in a better state of mind.  She left.  But she came back at least 2 more times.  The first time it was to try to give me the things she had stolen - maybe out of conviction?  And the 2nd time, she interrupted another conversation I had started with an elderly lady who didn’t believe in God.

It was dark by the time the outreach finished, but I had other good opportunities, including a quick conversation with a couple of guys waiting for a taxi to take them to the airport.  They left with tracts

Friday’s outreach was very busy.  I was first there, and so I handed out some tracts and was even able to get into a good gospel conversation before the outreach proper even started!  After prayer, I decided to go off on my own for some walk up evangelism.  Starting at the bridge of remembrance, where I had a chat with a guy sitting in the sun, I moved down to Colombo Street, where I had a chat with a christian girl who was between churches and struggling with the issue of homosexuality.  Sadly, she basically said it wasn’t wrong, and after discussing it for a while, she wanted to move on.

I headed towards Cathedral Square.  And ended up bumping into one of my regulars.  Sadly, still pointing to their good deeds as the reason they are going to heaven.  I spent about 20 minutes labouring with him.  He was open and friendly, and wanted to talk, but it felt like what I was saying was falling on deaf ears :(

I made it to the Square and was able to have some more follow up with three streeties.  One of them is fairly new.  She thinks she is going to heaven because she has said sorry and asked for forgiveness.  She thought she was a good person, in spite of the can of booze in her hand.  I explained why I deserve hell, and it shocked her.  I was able to explain why asking for forgiveness can’t remove her punishment.  She engaged for a few minutes, but sadly the other 2 guys distracted her and she quickly switched off again. :(

I completed the loop and made it back to the bridge of remembrance, handing out tracts as I went.  Back at the bridge, I could see the rest of the team were all busy in conversations.  So encouraging!  And I was able to have 2 more solid conversations there as well.  The first was with a deep thinking young man who loosely called himself Bhuddist.  And the 2nd was with two young high school aged guys, who think about what happens after life all the time.

No real down time in that outreach - which was great!  But, annoyingly, I lost one of my gloves! :(  Oh well.

Wow, I’ve still gotta write about Saturday and Sunday’s outreaches, which were really busy, but I’m running out of time!  And I don’t want to bore you (does anyone actually read these?  Are they helpful?  Let me know, because I could just use this hour in more evangelism! ;) Haha ).

So Saturday, I was on my own, nice Sunny day.  Started out a bit slow, but then I got into a great chat with a young couple.  They heard the gospel, and then I started working through the guy's questions. He had grown up in a Christian environment, but had rejected it.  Suddenly, another guy joined the conversation, and ended up killing the chat :(  The couple left and I was left with him.  I vaguely recognised him, I’m pretty sure I’ve talked to him multiple times before (but quite a long time ago).  I was friendly, but he responded oddly.  He then became subtly passive aggressive.  He would ask unanswerable questions, and when I tried to answer, he would basically say I got it wrong and start again.  Frustrating!  He started to twist my words, and accuse me of being insensitive to his culture by the pictures on the flipchart.  I’d had enough, and I politely said it was time for the conversation to end.  I politely asked him to leave me alone and not touch my flipchart.  He wouldn’t leave.  I was really uncomfortable.  He sat across from me, the aim was to stop me from talking to others.  I said I was going to start filming him, and I did - it didn’t phase him.  Finally I said I was going to call the police.  He said, “go ahead”.  So I did.  I tried 105 (non emergency) first, but I couldn’t navigate the menu, so I had to call 111.  Finally, the guy left, just as I started talking to the Police!  The guy I talked to was really good!  He took details, and after a 10 minute call, I was able to get back to work sharing the gospel! :)  I was able to distribute tracts and had a great chat to end the outreach.

I’ve got 5 mins left and I still need to sort pics and post!  Sunday was amazing!  Chat after chat.  The highlight was a chat with a young guy (Catholic background) who was very engaged and stayed in spite of multiple interruptions.  He came to understand the gospel, and then was able to open up about being gay.  I was able to labour with him that their was hope for heaven for him, but that the reality was his life would change - he wouldn’t be able to practice homosexuality.  Even though we sin, we can be forgiven as a gift.  We parted on good terms and a good handshake.  He left with a tract.

I could write more, but I think this is the longest report I’ve ever written.  Today, in church, we read Matthew 9.  The last 2 verses say this:

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
- Mt 9:37–38

This is so true!  Come and join us out in the harvest!

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday June 29th, 2022 from 1300 – 1500

Today is within the weeks of School breaks for State and High school. Both Amy and Gary were not available as they had to mind their own kids for quality family time. Actually, Amy and the two kids have gone down to Adelaide to pay tribute and commemorate their Husband/father. A time that needs healing of God with Love and Peace. As a result, only Johnny and Hung were on duty. Both of us had a comparatively busy time though many of them are fruitless approach if not outright rejection. By the grace of God, there were still a few quality conversation especially for Johnny. Recap below is the Battle Log of Hung: -

1 ) My first outreach was to an Aboriginal Granma and her Granddaughter. They were in a rush and using the bus waiting time to have their lunch. They however still welcome me to talk to them while they are eating. Basically, they are church going but not yet a believer, they could not pay full focus on my sharing, so I settle with wrapping up with the nutshell of the gospel and leave them finish their lunch box before the bus came.

2 ) Then I approach a Korean but he was not interested even though I tried to share just the nutshell of the Gospel.

3 ) Then cam a Local Aussie girl who was friendly and willing to have a chat, yet it was cut short by the quick arrival of her bus.

4 ) I approached a Mainlander Chinese, but he diverted the attention to his friend who is a devoured Buddhism follower. 大陸⋯.推搪, 有信佛專家 I tried to steer his mind to understand that all religion including Buddhism are good but do not address the issue of sin. He was two brain washed to insist that he needs nothing else other than Buddhism.

5 ) Then I caught up with A devout Christina from Solomon Island. He claimed himself a God lover praying all the time to God. But when tested if he has assurance of salvation, he only got 50/50 certainty which was gravely wrong. I had him clarified that it should be 100% as Jesus' redemptive work was 100% sufficient and effective to grant us the long-lost heavenly citizenship the moment we received Christ as our Saviour. He was pleased for this clarification and took a selfie with me.

6 ) Jacob was an ecumenical minded person claiming that all good person of whatever religion can go to heaven by their good deeds. It seemed that he is not fully agreeable even after my clarification.

7 ) Then I caught up with a woman from Mainland China大陸女,she was open to chat though still avoid telling me her name and her home town.還可以聊. Just share the nutshell of Gospel to her before the bus arrived.

8 ) I sat next to a Buddhism lady佛教女,she still refused to admit she is not good enough after her Buddhism education. 聽後還是不 接受

9 ) Two Hong Kong Compatriots, who are church going at UQ, but not yet a believers. They also was from Christian school background from Hong Kong. They anyhow admitted that the gospel is sensible and logical and our status as sinner is a fact though hard to accept. They thanked for my sharing and indicated that they are now more ready to become a Christian by simply accepting Jesus as their personal Saviour.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday May June 28st, 2022 from 1330 – 1500

Lately, many friends of us got infected with Covid. We anyhow still not being waived to stop but keep trusting God to do our street outreach as led by the Holy Spirit. Today, the weather was also fine but there seemed to have less people flow at the bus stop. I let Johnny and Winnie to take up more chances of conversation with me to pick up the overflow one. Recap is my shorter Battle log for the day.

1 ) Stephen is a local Aussie but had been to China three years ago before the pandemic. He was wearing a T shirt with the Shao Lin Ji logo and the 18 martial arts warriors that used to be the mentor of Shao Lin to test the Gongfu graduates if they can fight their way out to be a formally successful graduate. With his Gongfu loving attitude, I of course can easily catch up with him to share the Gospel. He possibly might think that my gospel message is likable with Chinese Culture favour. I any how stress to him that even the Gong fu master that are regarded as a people hero like th American captain, none of them are perfect that all human races are sinners that need the redemptive grace of Jesus. He anyway appeared quite receptive and happy to take selfie with me.

2 ) Chris whose parents are Christians so he is not strange to Bible story and gospel message, but he is not yet a believer. Yet, he is interested in life issues as I found out he i reading a book How to find real love in life, which could be similar to the Good Person tract. He is receptive to the Gospel message but not fully moved yet to accept the blessing of God through Jesus.

3 ) Then I approached Christy a girl from India for study. She answered the question wisely that no one good person is good enough. She apparently has some idea similar to the Christian theology but her bus came to end our meaningful conversation.

4 ) Jack with beard looks a bit hard to approach but it was wrong. He appeared very receptive to the Gospel. I was just able to finish the core of the gospel message when his bus arrived.

5 ) Cayor a boy from Ipswich with his big sister intending to go to UQ for a holiday fun visit. He was with his roller skate board so, I caught up with him for gospel while Winnie was taking to his sister. It was nice that I could use the good boy image to arouse his interest to see if being a good boy will earn him the way to heaven. It was a pity, there was not enough time to finish the full gospel message.

6 ) Finally, a Chinese guy who claimed that he had got the tract before, but he could not tell what it is all about so I just earned the chance to go through the gospel with him once again.

Battle log of Winnie:

It was great having a week’s holiday and spending time with my family.  God is so good.  But this week I was back on the streets! :)

It was so good being in church this morning and listening to the preacher teach from God’s word on prayer.  He used an illustration from the life of George Mueller that brought me to tears, and convicted me on my own lack of prayer and trust that God will actually answer.

Anyway, today as I made it to my regular outreach spot (cnr of Colombo and Cashel) as I set up my flipchart and sat down to pray, as per usual, I was so encouraged when God answered my prayer before I had even had the time to finish!  (Maybe I should pray BEFORE putting up my flipchart! :D )  Someone was standing in front of the flipchart, and I was straight into a conversation!

Later, Susan came to join me.  I was already deep in a conversation, but when it finished, I greeted her and suggested we pray… but before we did, we decided to move across the road to the sunny side (it was a warm day, but it was starting to cool down).  Low and behold, one of my regulars was there, and we actually got into a gospel conversation (he has heard it plenty of times before, but God hasn’t opened his eyes to it yet).  After that chat, Susan reminded me we hadn’t prayed yet!  So we sat down and did just that before getting into more conversations.

Soon after we prayed a young couple, who had talked to Susan before, turned up.  They were relativists, and were using it as a basis to make themselves god (so grievous).  It was mostly a friendly chat, but became very intense as I showed them how an absolute God must be real and the basis for the shared reality we are in.  They said the most absurd things (1+1=3 in my reality), and then would instantly contradict themselves (there is no right or wrong, but you are wrong).  In the end, they admitted they held their position so they can live as they like.  Sadly, the guy started to get angry with me.  When I calmly said there is no need to get angry, it only made him more angry, but he had to contain it, because it contradicted his argument for a world without anger!  It was frustrating and it was time for the chat to end.  They were polite as they left, but I was still feeling the sparks of battle.  Susan and I prayed for those 2 kids.  Sadly, they didn’t get to hear the law or the gospel, but I hope they will be challenged enough to be open to a reasonable discussion in the future.  God have mercy!

So many other great conversations today.  The last one was with a ‘Christian’ who was clearly pointing to his good deeds as the reason he was going to heaven.  I was able to gently, but pointedly show him that he is not currently a Christian, and explain the good news of how to become one!  I also had a full gospel chat with a young guy who identified himself as pagan.

Moving back in time, sadly, I wasn’t able to make it out to Riccarton on Saturday, but Roger and I were in the city on Friday.  It was a new public holiday in New Zealand, and there were LOTS of people on the streets that wouldn’t otherwise have been.  For some reason, I was feeling exhausted; I didn’t have the energy to get conversations started (like I did today).  So I just did my best to hand out gospel tracts to the people flowing past.  When Roger arrived it was great to see him enthusiastically engaging people (pictured).  At least one of us was able to!

On a whim, I decided to go for a walk and headed towards Cathedral Square.  It was providential, because I ended up encountering three kids at preacher's corner and having a wonderful chat with them.  Two of the three of them engaged really well, and we had a long gospel chat.
On Tuesday, Roger and I were at Riccarton.  This outreach was so long ago now that I can barely remember the details.  I’m sure I had some chats!  But I remember 2 things: 1) It was cold and got dark early (we have now passed the shortest day), and 2) Roger was having heaps of good chats!  (I tried to take some snaps, attached to this report).

I’m so grateful for the privilege of being able to focus on this work for the Lord’s glory.  Thank you for enabling me to do it, and please remember to keep us in prayer! :D

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday June 22nd, 2022 from 1300 – 1500

Today, the weather continued to be good. We had four persons turning up to serve at Sunnybank. So, Johnny and Gary teamed up to serve on the East side while Amy and Hung stayed on the West side at the Bus Stop. Again, God gave many meaningful and fruitful divine encounters to us. Recap is the Battle Log of Hung.

1 ) I first approached a Pakistan man who was friendly to chat. He admitted no one is perfect so he accepted that everyone needs Jesus to die and pay for our sin.

2) Faragher looked tired from work but was drawn to the gospel and felt energised by the good news.

3 ) A Local Aussie man bought a pack of wine from the liquor store but he was glad to have a chat and took a tract when the bus arrived.

4 ) Brad with a nose ring but was extraordinarily gentile and receptive to the Gospel. He has catholic schooling background so the gospel is still a new and refreshing message to him.

5 ) A Taiwan mature young man was a willing listener, just able to share him the nutshell of the gospel when his bus arrived.

6 ) I was able to identify with a dating couples from Xian sharing a lot of things about their home town. It opened up the chat box and God inspired to girl to have the wisdom to point out that what China needs now is faith rather than any human measures. She became so emo that she has to left for the private room to calm herself down. After that, I can share more my testimony with her that the ultimate life transforming strength is from God and she appears all agreeable. Pray for God's continuous follow up work.

7 ) Stephanie actually a Christian but did not expose herself and let me lead on sharing the gospel. I guess, she does not fully understand salvation by grace through faith as such she has no idea or certainty that she can go to heaven. After my clarification, she gladly understood now the important of accepting Jesus as our Saviour and keep trusting our Lord to lead a upward lifting Christian walk to let God made us perfect again eventually by the power of the Holy Spirit. The chat last long enough over 15-20 minutes to refresh and correct her incorrect and incomplete understanding about the Christian faith.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday June 15th, 2022 from 1300 – 1500

The temperature climbed up back a bit making it warmer and best for open air outreach. Today, Gary could not come because of Kid’s illness. So Just Johnny, Amy and Hung were available for this regular Wednesday afternoon outreach. Thanks God that all of us had been kept quite busy without much lapse time in between but we still could back each other up and took some valuable pictures for our Battle log journal. Basically, it was a great day that we could have very meaningful chat with some non-believers with rare unique background such as Judaism, Buddhism and Atheism. God also led us to reconnect with people we had one or several chats before to do follow up refreshment sharing. They all worked well together to have achieved the Will and Plan of God for all those approached gospel targets helping them to move one step closer to their eternal faith and salvation. Amy was able also to get personal connection that may lead to coming to join our church service in the near future. Recap below is the Battle log of Hung: -

1 ) For Hung, the first target is Michael a Jewish non-believer scholar, yet very fond of studying the Bible in original Hebrew language. He however was brainwashed with many anti-Christ slogan by the biased attitude of the Judaism Jews against Jesus as the fake messiah. He shared a prom version about Jesus birth that Mary was actually raped by the Roman soldier to then giving birth to Jesus as virgin birth was completely beyond the comprehension of their human knowledge. I drew his attention to Gen 3:15 about the dual mags plan Kingdom and redemption projects, prophesizing that a descendent of woman will kick off the dual project defeating Satan and redeeming all repentant sinners through the incarnation as a perfect human by virgin birth. Mark was fascinated by the early stage prophesy and felt shameful to withdraw his half joking claim that Jesus was born as a baby conceived by Mary by being raped. I moved on to illustrate how the Bible should be read on light of God’s mission handbook by the two temple cleansing accounts. He was overwhelmed by all these new interpretations of Biblical accounts but had to leave with an aroused desire to listen on.

2 ) Then I approached a Vietnamese nurse student but she showed very passive attitude toward the Bible and faith issue though she was still listening not wholeheartedly.

3 ) Julian a Filipino Christian originally of Catholic background but was converted to Protestant Christianity. She was very faithful and pious in seeking biblical truth. Yet she failed the most fundamental on not having full assurance of salvation. With a concise apologetic sharing, she came to her sense that because of the efficacy of Jesus’ work dying for us then we should have 100% of assurance of salvation. She was greatly pleased by this enlightenment and was willing to take selfie with me to show her appreciation.

4 ) I was so glad to have met a Hing Konger Mr HU also a Christian now meeting at Toowong Baptist. 胡道旺,I shared a bit about the Chinese Church history in Brisbane and pray for another divine encounter. 分享教會歷史

5 ) Three Japanese girls that Amy tried to approached but declined by them as they were into a group conversation amongst themselves. I anyhow had a go to interrupted them affirming they were really Japanese as such I greeted them in Japanese. Of course, it helped to remove the social distance between them but it was too late as the bus jsut arrived at this moment. I anyhow handed to one of them the tract.

6 ) A Chinese couples from Shanghai appeared a bits initial reluctance to chat when Amy first approached them. I anyway made a second attempted and was successful to share the gospel to the wife. She claimed she got the tract before and indicate no interest as they are Buddhism followers. I made use of this lead that all religions are good at guiding people to be a good person but failed to address sin. Message was passed on but the lady was interrupted by a friend call and it ended our conversation. 中國夫蹄。上海,拿過單張,再講福音

7 ) Salina an Indian young lady but showed deep interests in listening to the gospel wearing a big smile all the times. She was receptive to the gospel but the bus arrived just when I finished the sharing. Pray for God's own follow up work.

8 ) Sammy was the person that Terresa was moved to lead her into a conversation prayer. Sammy actually recognized me as I had a long chat with her two weeks ago and I have left a deep impression by her reaction to the gospel as well as by her name which is same as a Christian singer. Despite the eagerness of Teresa, she is still not ready to make a firm conversion though she is very close to making the last step of faith but actually just not yet. I assured her that it is right to be prudent in making this important decision of her life time and pray that she will make up her mind without reservation next time we meet. But today, it was a great chat that she missed two times her bus to let our conversation last for a longer time.

9 ) Mark a Malaysian Christian but he disclosed to me very late as such I only shared him the full gospel without checking out his assurance of salvation.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday May June 21st, 2022 from 1330 – 1500

It was a fine day with warm sunshine and moderate temperature good for open air outreach. It was a pity that Winnie got a bad stomach as such she had to retreat a bit earlier. But she still had reached out to a good number of people from the photo we took. As for Johnny and Hung, we again experienced mutual back up as a team that God let us catch up with someone who had just rejected our team mate a moment ago. The results of today was predominantly positive with many Christian having full assurance of salvation and some non-believers responding to the gospel very positively with appreciation shown by willingness for a group selfie with me. Recap below are the battle log of Hung and Winnie: -

1) Farthren a Christian with a rare view of staying at a transitional place to receive training by God to after death so as to become a better person by the power of God. It is more or less the biblical view that all Believers will go to Paradise after death waiting for the 2nd coming of Christ and all of them will return on to the earth to live with Christi as King for 1000 years. So, he got the three-fold deliverances understanding as such he most likely will know that despite we are not yet perfect both before and after conversion, we have been given back our eternal lift identity the moment we received Christ as Saviour.

2) Ethen an Aussie girl who has become Christian for only two years, but again she has the most orthodox understanding of 100% assurance of Salvation if we have received Christ as our savour. I just made a minor fine tuning on her statement of faith that for sure Jesus has died for all of us and taken our place for the punishment as such we definitely should have 100% assurance of salvation. Again, she was so appreciative for my sharing and affirmation of her faith as such she also was happy to take a selfie with me.

3) A fat big guy who appeared reluctant to be an audience of the Gospel but ending up still hearing most part of the gospel before the bus came.

4) Sam, a Korean girl who appeared to be a non-believer but still showed great receptiveness to the gospel.

5) Caleb very clear about the gospel and has 100% assurance of salvation. He is from a Christian family, but more so, it is so precious for him to know the gospel so accurately. I congratulate him and he was happy to take a flash photo shot of our selfie.

6) A fresh graduate from China Guangzhou中國廣州,新生. He remains open to the gospel though the bus came very quickly.

7) Sandy a Malaysian girl of Indian origin. She initially rejected Johnny but till both Johnny and the Spirit moved me to approach her and bingo, I ended up sharing the full gospel to her.

8 ) A mature worker saying “All good” to reject my approach. Pray really that God will still give him 2nd chance to know that we are not "All Good" for Heaven without Jesus.

9) Vanessa a willing listener wearing a smile all the time. She heard the full gospel and promise to make up her mind to receive Christ at her private time.

10 ) Ivy another heart soften harvest field ready for the gospel to bear root for fruit. Despite she was once busy in replying text message, she paid full attention to the gospel sharing and admitted it is the message she need to understand her eternal status. She also showed her appreciation by taking selfie with me.

Battle log of Winnie:

7. Hogan & Hanna。
