I collect snippets from all the text gospel conversations I have online, and I’ve just been through a few of the recent ones - very encouraging! I’ll include some of those snippets (as pictures at the end of this report).
I’ve been meaning to write this report for a few days, but I just haven’t had time. Been busy gearing up for selling the new gospel flipchart that I mentioned in my last report. We have also been able to restock our gospel tract supply. If you are in NZ, you can get those tracts for free here (just pay shipping). And, of course, we have been as busy as ever ministering the gospel on the streets of Christchurch and online.
On Sunday, the outreach was a bit slow. And it was super hot! And yet, God provided opportunities. I spoke with a Satanist. He was a lovely guy, and we had a nice friendly chat. At one point, he smiled and said he self identified as a lama!? I didn’t let that distract from my opportunity to take him through the law and gospel. I can’t remember the exact details of the conversation, but I remember I didn’t have too long with him, he needed to get somewhere. But he did accept a tract with a smile. Near the end of the outreach, a guy was attracted by the flip chart. He said he was a Christian, and even showed me a tattoo of the crown of thorns on his arm. But when I asked why he would go to heaven, sadly, he said, “because I’m good”. I was able to take him all the way through the flip chart, and then point him to a Bible. Sadly he was resistant about getting connected with a church. He has much to think on.
The Friday outreach was very interesting. It was encouraging to have a small team out.
I was showing one of the newbies how the flip chart worked when I noticed a guy approaching that I’ve had numerous opportunities to talk about the gospel with over the years. I smiled and said hello. He exploded. Profanities. I remember him using the term “Christian Satanist”. And he was loud. People all round stopped to stare. I ignored him, and suggested that the other Christians do the same. He continued down the street, swearing and cursing us. Sadly, he decided to come back, still yelling. I decided to walk off to try to draw the heat away from the rest of the team. It did the trick, he followed me, and then he ran past me and got in my face. He screamed for me to look at him - so I did. He had some spittle on his face. I looked him in the eyes as he said what he wanted to say. He was so angry, his false teeth slipped out, and then he quickly sucked them back in.
By this stage, I noticed others coming. I turned to say it was okay, but a guy, someone I’ve never seen before, who had a nice jacket on, told the guy to leave me alone. The guy started abusing him. He wasn’t phased, and just told him to leave - which he did. My saviour turned to look at me, and asked if I was okay. I smiled, and said I was fine. Then another guy, someone I’ve never seen before, came to check on me. I felt so honoured to have members of the public come to my help! Thank you so much! The angry guy continued to rage down Cashel Mall. I had to keep my distance for about 5 minutes before he finally stopped his shouting and moved off. I had the opportunity to apologise to a few bystanders who were staring down the street - I asked if they were okay.
There would have been a time when I would have been a blubbering mess after that. But on this day, I didn’t bat an eyelid, straight back to work, sharing the gospel. I’m grateful for the work God is doing in me to be able to handle this better.
And not only that, the outburst led to gospel opportunities. A guy came to talk to me, and I was able to share the gospel with him, afterwards, he mentioned that he had seen what happened.
Anyway, that’s all I’ve got to say for now. I guess what I want to say is, you may read these reports and think of all the wonderful conversations I get to have. And I wanted to write this report to show the reality of it. It’s often slow and hard work. But, it’s such wonderful work! I get to tell people, over and over, about Jesus! I want to encourage you to get involved. Step out and share about Jesus, wherever God has planted you. Put in the hard yards, and watch God work, in his timing! Step out and share the gospel :)

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday March 9th, 2022 from 1300 to 1500
Hurrah, God moved and called a new blood to join me and Johnny, the Street outreach squad at Sunnybank. She is our new Pastor Amy Lin Yao. I did not push her to join me right away, even she has done the Kairos Course. She initially was not so sure if she can deliver her duty as the Pastor of CFC by joining me right away on the street. Because she must have observed that my Street gospel ministry have not brought too many additional members to the church. Yet, God finally enlightened and moved her to join me today at Sunnybank. It is after all one of the measures to outreach to people that God may lead us to meet with each other.
The weather is still warm but much better than yesterday which was scorching hot with hot wind. I briefed Amy in the beginning that at the bus stop situations, our gospel conversation will bound to be short and frequently interrupted by arriving bus. So, we must adjust ourself to share the core of the gospel in shortest time frame, and leave the result to God. But our God of humour gave Amy a special divine encounter with a senior man of atheist background. He was there actually waiting to meet with his wife to take bus home, but arrived a bit too early as such they chatted for almost an hour, which is very rare in this bus stop situations. God made use of Amy’s likeability gift to let the senior man felt at ease to share his heart out with Amy which in turn let Amy gained the opportunities later to share him the Gospel. The affinity or approachability character of Amy really give her an edge to approach even some difficult persons. In short, I could see God really handholding Amy to get adapted into this challenging Street Outreach ministry with a very good beginning. I pray that she will hold on steadfastly when God let hers encounter more reject and despise from some stone heart persons that will not intimated our drive but encouraged us to grow in faith by hop and bound.
On the other hand both Johnny and I had our fair shares to preach the gospel to many people of different nations. Recap below is my Battle Log: -
1. First, I approached an old Cantonese Couples è€å»£æ± from Hong Kong. They were not keen at religion but I rightly tell them it is a life and death issues more significant than any form of religion that everybody should take heed of it especially people like them and me whose days are numbered on this earth. I was able to carry on to share just the nutshell of the Gospel before the bus came.
2. å°åº¦Ire a mature young Indian lady who appeared very friendly to chat about religions. After I rushed through the core of Gospel, she was impressed and promised to think deeply at home by reading the tract.
3. Then I caught up with Marty who claimed that I had spoken with him before at Toowong. He claimed he is a Christian but I nevertheless still went thru the nutshell of the gospel and test for his assurance of salvation which as expected , he failed. Thanked God I still have just enough time to clarify with him why eh should have 100% of assurance of salvation.
4. Tim is Australian born but his parents are from Gambia , West Africa. He appeared very confused with his own faith status claiming he flip flop between Catholic and Christianity. So unsurprisingly, he failed the test of 100% assurance of salvation. Again, just in time for a clarification before the bus came.
5. Ashin is a young Indian girl professing Hinduism. But again, like Ire, she appeared very opened mind to listening to sharing of the gospel. And she also admitted that the doctrine of save by grace through faith in Christ is sound and logical to accept.
6. Then I caught up with a Hongkonger couples who has just returned back from HKG to Australia in the capacity of an Aussie Citizen. They avoided attributing the return to the Hong Kong deteriorating social and economical status. Then the bus came and I could only left with the husband a tract. Pray that we may meet again here.
7. Two Christian Aussie girls let me shared with them the whole gospel as if they had not heard it before but then declared both are Christians after I finished. When I tested for their assurance of salvation, they utterly had no idea how to answer. So very apparently, they are the typical nominal Christians who have no assurance of salvation. I use all my force to clarify why but it seemed to have offended them by exposing their weakness or ignorance. Both left on the excuse they found out they are on a wrong bus stop that God did nothing wrong to bring them here for a chat with me.
8. Liu from China is a very rational mind young man from Mainland China but he also found the gospel sensible and logical despite of his atheist back ground. He promised to ponder taking a both rational decision but by faith to accept Jesus as his Saviour and Lord of his life.
9. Lastly, I caught up with another two girls from China coming here for study. They were polite to let me share though not with a real genuine interest. But God’s election was apparent to let them stop and listen until the bus came.
10. I almost missed out another Senior Hongkonger who initially pretending he did not under English or Chinese (Mandarin). But later on I found he is a Cantonese speaking person. He is totally non-interested in anything religious at all. But I just showed him the action love by helping him to find our the right bus stop for him to go to Garden City which is around the far corner on Zemina Street off Time Square. He found to too troublesome to go there so he changed his mind to go home directly. I anyway still earn his trust and was able to share the nutshell of the gospel to him.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday March 8th, 2022 from 1330 to 1500
The revived street outreach after the subsiding of Omicron was interrupted last week by the general road block caused by flash flooding. Though some of the road block is still in place , but access to Toowong is ok as such the three regular team mates Johnny, Winnie and Hung can reassembled again. The weather was extreme hot up to 35C, yet it could not hampered our eagerness for outreach. We all could meet many UQ students especially fresh undergraduate. Majority showed openness to have a chat without only a few exceptions. So God is good.
Hung battle Log
1) I was First rejected by a Chinese guy, and the Spirit did not move me to keep pursuing.
2) Girl from Northern Europe did not reject my approach but showed indifference all the time when I shared the gospel.北æ女生顕ç¾å†·æ¼
3) Then I approached an Indian guy who did not show keen interest to chat initially, but just let my conversation go on with gradually increasing degree of interaction. His interest was aroused and he finally took a tract and promised to ponder on the foundation of gospel message I shared with him.
4) Gwen, a Chinese look girl from Brunei possibly of Muslim background but was very open for religious conversation and appeared very receptive to the gospel message.
5) A Big fellow refused to chat with Winnie, but the Spirit led me to approach him on a friendly chat basis. I basically used my testimony of planning to do a Master of Counseling to minister to the family counseling need of my own church members but after a year of study, I found out from the course about code of conduct than a Counselor cannot have dual relationship with patient. So I cannot serve my own church member but must refer to others. It seems that my purpose of doing the degree was tarnished. But God made no mistakes to let me use this Counseling student identify to join the 2008 Sichuan earthquake and there by opened up a 7 years period of China ministry. I bring back the discussion to the issue can we really planned and have full control of our own life. Can we be sure to be a good man all our life without any blemishes. If not, shall we need to face the consequence of our imperfect decision making that led us to face judgment after death. So virtually, I still brought the big fellow back to my first question and he is responding very sensibly now when the bus arrival ending our 10 minutes or more conversation.
6) A Catholic Christian ask me to save my gas as he is a Catholic. Then I tested for his assurance of salvation which failed utterly. Yet he just showed an indifferent attitude could not be careless if he really understand the meaning of salvation.
7) Then God led me to approach Nadim an Malaysian Muslin that Johnny already have a good and successful chat leading him to understand the salvation and even has invited him to Sherwood Methodist. I basically reinforce don the assurance of salvation with encouragement to follow Jesus and learn God through Bible study at Church.
8 ) Rowland a Singapore young man with very opened mind and showed genuine receptiveness to the Gospel.
9) Olive a polite Aussie girl paying genuine attention to the Gospel message I shared and admitted that it is all logical and sensible to know we are sinners and we all need Jesus.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Sunnybank on Wednesday 23/2/2022 from 1300 to 1500
After 7 weeks of rest because of both the Omicron outbreak and my medical treatment issues, we returned to the Sunnybank Street outreach field today with the three regular team mates, Johnny, Gary and Hung all turning up. The human flow was tended to be much less than normal. But all of us still got ample of chances to share the gospel to people of all nations. Gary as usual bought along his big signs to attract attention of both the pedestrians and the car drivers. We had a fruitful resumption of ministry and finished it in time just before the projected afternoon rain fall. Recap below is the Battle Log of Hung: -
1. A Chinese Mum caring a young daughter, but still willing to listen to the Gospel I shared and took tract home. At least the nutshell of the gospel has been covered when the bus arrived. ä¸åœ‹æ¯è¦ªå’Œå¥³å…’å…‰è´
2. Catherine a Catholic background Filipino Christian, yet has basic and correct understanding of the gospel with hundred percent of assurance of salvation. She appeared humble to listen though at time might seemed a bit impatience.
3. A Chinese young lady from North-Eastern Chinaæ±åŒ—姑娘,She was very polite有礼貌 showing courtesy to listen to the gospel and admitted it is sensible and logical that she may ponder to pursue.
4. Ash, an Algeria Muslim parent but of atheist background. He became Christian in Australia and is now attending a Baptist church in the park with the boy scout hall. Yet he only has 50% of assurance of salvation, so I had to rush to give him a clarification which was just in time before his bus arrived.
5. Then I followed up on a Chinese senior person that Gary had contacted. It was Mr Li who claimed to have a chat with me here before. Then I recalled he was invited by a friend to attend a local church which happens to be Ruth Liao 廖牧師church with the Wesleyan Denomination.æŽå…ˆç”Ÿï¼ŒHe is from Shen Zhen 深圳so he understands a bit Cantonese but could not speak. Unfortunately, he only have 50%of assurance of salvation that need my clarification.解釋. He thought he is readily a true Christian as such kept asking me to share with others. Of course, I stayed put to get him know that his lack of 100% assurance of salvation is a loophole that Satan will attack him that it must be addressed and clarified.
6. Paul, a Filipino initially reject ed my approach but while I chose a friendship approach, he then changed to become a good listener of the full gospel.
7. Christie and his girlfriend seems like a couple. They react friendlily to my approach with high chance that they are Christians. But time left was too short to elaborate on the gospel as the bus came almost instantly.
8. Jerry from China has some Christian friends but has never heard the gospel formally. He was very attentive and serious this time to take in the gospel message and promised to ponder at home for a faith action.
9. A tall guy who is an Australian born Vietnamese showed good interest to the gospel. I could only manage to share him the nutshell as the bus also came too quick.
10. Finally, I caught up with two girl named黃 & æŽ who are from the southern part of China. å—方大陸人.The showed reluctance to listen to my sharing of full gospel.勉強è½å®Œæ•´ç¦éŸ³ Pray for God’s follow up work.

Battle Log of Operation 513 for Toowong on Tuesday 22/2/2022 from 1330 to 1500
Praise and thanks God that Bo Yun continued to turn up joining us against all odd as such we had a team of four for today Street outreach. I encourage Bu Yun åœæ˜€ to take Kairos as it is the most essential biblical discipleship driven cross cultural outreach training course giving you all the biblical basis to support day to day cross culture evangelism by all lay Christian. I encourage Bo Yun to make the step of faith to reach out with a belief that God will be with you when you make this step of faith.
When we got to the bus stop it was with a long queue lining up around the street corner. Each of us just randomly picked one in the queue to share. The queue however disappeared fairly quickly once the bus arrived one after the other. We got back to the normal status waiting at the bus stop to catch up with whoever coming for the bus. Rejection rate was above average high. But I assured Bo Yun, this is part of the training that God wants us to go through to do our best to outreach but prepare for the worse of a blunt rejection. Any better response is a bonus including polite rejection but you still can give it a go to make friend first. As I still needed to spend sometime to take care of our team members photo shot and sharing experience with Bo Yun, I relatively had less chats than normal which is recap as below: -
1. Sheaver, an Indonesia girl of 2nd year UQ student, appeared very open to have a chat on religious issue. She was in full agreement that being a good person is not good enough for heaven. She also has the concept of perfection of life without sin. I almost doubt she is a disguised Muslin by dress but a real Christian by heart. It was a pity I could not find out more her real religious affiliation and quickly summarized with her the core of the gospel that we all need Jesus to take away the punishment of our sin.
2. Alecia a local Aussie, who appeared a bit indifferent, but still let me share until the bus came.
3. Porches a Christian first handed a tract by Bo Yun. I though he was rejected but when I turned around to face her, she gave me a big smile behind the mask welcoming for a chat. So, I then found out she is a Christian and the result of diagnosis was good. She is a fair dinkum Christian with full assurance of salvation and knew it was all because of the redemptive grace of Jesu taking our place to receive the punishment of sin originally due on us. She is a fresh Uni year one student and she attends the Kingdom Church.
4. Then I caught with a Girl from Yang Zhou, Chinaæšå·ž.ä¸åœ‹. She is fresh Uni year 1 student一年級.I got connected with her through my early age China exploration trip to area near her home town. She anyway also appeared open to the Gospel.
5. John a local Aussie rejected me initially but cannot reject me to approach him as a friend. So eventually I still could share the full gospel in a nutshell to him.
6. Then I caught up with a Caribbean Indian girl, she looked curious and friendly to have a chat with me. Full gospel was shared and she obviously was impressed by the word of God.
7. The I was rejected by a Muslim lady yet she still kept a friendly gesture to decline my second attempt to share and chat,
8. Finally, I was rejected bluntly by a Nigeria Muslim who did not even want to take a tract. Yet my sincerity to share the message I deem important softened him to listen to all I continue to share before the bus came.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Toowong on Tuesday Feb 15, 2020 1330 - 1500
After a rest of 42 days or 6 weeks, because partially of Omicron but mostly my surgical need of treatment for bladder cancer and subsequently a prostate trimming operation, the Toowong team of three Johnny, Winnie and Hung have regrouped today for a fresh start. Praise and thanks God new blood was introduced by Rev Kiateck Tan of CCCB St Lucia Ryan Chinese Congregation. They are all BST students but all seeking to have their ministry practicum be done at SCCC as such Rev Kiateck Tan arranged them to have a taste of Street Outreach by joining us at Toowong. They are Amanda Liu from Hill Song, Alice Wu and Po Yuan from SCCC. Each of us take care of one BST student. Johnny partner with Po Yuan to do outreach at the Main Entrance of Toowong Village while the rest went to the Bus stop across the Road. I spent a lot of time to brief first Alice than Amanda the biblical ground for street outreach to share gospel indiscriminative to people of all nations. The rationale is from Matt 5:13-15 that Christians should all be acting as priest to bring people to Christ in a visible way as if we are the light and salt for witness Christ. And it is not only for the single purpose of sowing the seed of Gospel, but more importantly to experience how to work with God to overcome any difficulty in crossing all sort of barrier to preach the gospel as such God will help us growth during this process making us more mature spiritually day by day till we are transformed back to perfection which After all is the promise of God as per Eph 4:10. I have to help them to put aside the Chinese typical way of evangelism that it must be ended by bringing the gospel target to Christ ending in a prayer. In Operation 513 code of ministry, we are forbidden to force our way to pressurize the gospel target to make an instance decision on the spot and then we lead them to Christ by a Prayer of repentance. Instead, we will encourage them to take it easy to go home , re-read the gospel tract and tell God their decision if they are really moved to accept Christ. I do pray that, the three BST student first street outreach experience will give them motivation and momentum to keep coming next week.
The time left for me to do my own outreach was much less as recap below: -
1) Gabriel is a fresh year one UQ student going to attend the market day of the Orientation week. He was a bit apprehended initially if he should chat with me when he noticed it is about gospel and Christianity as he has formed some negative thought about it. I asked him for an example and he said Christianity is immoral to use animal sacrifice to achieve religious purpose. No animal should be killed, I said to him, it is only a symbolism that God used to foretell how Jesus will offer himself as the sacrificial lamb to die for us and shoulder all the punishment of sin originally due on us. He then criticize why God does not make human not able to sin. I patiently explain to him God is great in creation of human as a relational being with free will to choose to love God or disobey Him. Otherwise, a man without free will but preprogramed to do only good thing is a soulless robot as such will be incapable of building interaction and relationship with God and other fellow human being. First Human failed the test and have brought the world to a fallen state infringing the glory of God. It is the predestine knowledge of God that through His dual Kingdom and Salvation Project as per Gen 3:15, to be kicked off by Jesus through dying on the cross, will bring salvation to repentant sinners and bring restoration of this fallen world back into His Kingdom. The bus came at this point I time and I trusted that God will have further work on this young man who still care to ask questions to get clarification on the Christian faith.
2) Then I approached a Chinese guy with Amanda watching on the side. This guy is from Hongkong but actually migrated to Hong Kong from mainland as such he can speak Mandarin. He showed off he has a Bible at home and has the habit to read it every now and then. But the bottom line is , he is not yet a Christian and don not yet understand salvation. I did my best to share with him the core of the gospel, but he seems not fully concentrated in listening and understand the gospel but side track along the way to avoid the issue of sin. He also tried to distract our conversation to ask if I do this as my vocation. Thus, it was no surprised he did not listen clearly and completely the full gospel by the time the bus came. I told Amanda, even this divine encounter was not considered as a successful one. But God will not let thing happened without a purpose. He will keep pursuing this self-smart guy until he surrenders to accept Christ line myself at the age of 40.
3) The I approached a black person I thought is from Africa but actually he is from New Zealand. The timing was again not right and I could only manage to share him the nutshell of the gospel stressing that no one got saved unless one is perfect, or else both bad guys and good guys all need Christ.
4) Jack is a fair dinkum Christian having hundred percent assurance of salvation. But when asked deeper the biblical basis of it, he still need some explanation on the three-fold salvation package of God. Hence receiving Christ alone as our saviour to let him shoulder our punishment of sin will grant us instantly the heavenly citizenship or being justified to become God’s children. Yet it is only a change of our eternal identity, but the essence of our life has yet to be changed and transformed back to perfection. This is the point of confusion misleading most Christian to feel unsure about the fact that we are 100% save and can go to heaven in future despite we are still not perfect after we are accepted back as God’s citizen. Because it is God’s promise to complete his job to make us perfect ultimately by serving and working with Hm on God’s mission. I was a bit surprise Jack seems to have not Regular Christen affiliation with either a church group or with Christian fellowship like Power to Change. I pray that God will lead him to continue with his journey of sanctification.

Often, when doing street evangelism, you face a lot of rejection. People not stopping, dirty looks, refused tracts. And yet, God allows many opportunities for gospel ministry.
But sometimes, an outreach will be ‘off the charts’. You have multiple people stopping at the same time(!) and wanting to talk to you, thoughtful looks, and even those you don’t expect receive a tract.
Well, today’s outreach was ‘off the charts’. It was a blur of activity to the point where my memory is struggling to put it all together. I’ll do my best!
I arrived at the usual spot (bridge of remembrance), I got there before Roger, and so I decided to hand out a few tracts in the meantime. The very first one was to a young lad - a fish that had been pre caught, gutted and filleted and just dropped on my lap! He was so open. He had been thinking about what happens after life, he already believed in God (had non practising Catholic parents) but just needed to understand the gospel. The conversation followed the script perfectly. He started professing faith, and so I got him to consider the cost and then pointed him to the Bible and a local church. He left with a tract and a way to get in touch. What a start.
By this stage Roger had arrived and we went to prayer, thanking God for the opportunity already given, and to cry out for help in what is ‘mission impossible’ otherwise. God certainly answered that prayer!
By this stage, Steve (OAC) had arrived and was keen to check out the new flip chart…
By the way, we have designed a new 6 page large flip chart that incorporates all the concepts from the 19 page mini flip chart plus more. When the first printing arrived, I was so excited about it that I posted about it on my personal Facebook page. The post generated enough interest that I decided to write about each page. You can read that series of posts here: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6, Part 7
So, anyway, I set up the flip chart, intending to demonstrate it to Steve when a young man going past was attracted by the front page, so Steve got to watch it in action! Interestingly, one of our regulars turned up, and so Steve ended up getting into a chat with him, while I shared the gospel with the young man.
He claimed he was an unemotional thinker and so we engaged purely on logical grounds. He followed along with the logic, but when he could see the implications, he rejected it. I challenged him to fault the logic - he couldn’t at this stage, so I pleaded with him to think about it, and if he saw any flaws, to let me know - because I want the truth as well. We parted ways with a handshake, and he left with a tract and a way to get in touch.
It’s at this point it gets blurry. The flip chart was popular today, people were attracted by the front page. At one point I had 3 separate groups of people stopping to engage! I wasn’t able to hold the attention of them all, sadly. Oh, for more Christians to join me! :D
I ended up getting into a great conversation with 3 young passionate Catholics. Sadly they disengaged - but seeds were sown.
The last conversation was with 5 young guys (I think they said they went to Christ’s College). There was some banter at the start, but soon they started engaging seriously. They were all at different places in where they were at with what we were talking about - and yet, I was able to hold the attention of all of them (thank you Father). One of them sobered. One of them was asking brilliant questions that the flip chart was anticipating. I was able to take them through every page of the flip chart, and use every segment of the last page (but one). And this time, Steve was able to see the whole presentation!
As that conversation wrapped up, I pulled out my phone and it was exactly 3:30pm! Wrap up time. I was on cloud nine. Clicking my heels, so excited by the wonderful opportunities to bring glory to God and tell of him to others. Thank you Father for condescending to use us in your work! We finished up with prayer of thanks and praise.
I have the best job in the world. Thank you to those that are supporting this ministry - esp. In prayer. Thank you for enabling me to do this. Please pray that this ministry would continue to be a blessing and encouragement to the larger church, and that souls would be saved and knitted into the church - to the glory of God alone!
By the way, Andy & I have both been able to have some summer rest - which has been great! We are both back from Holiday now. Andy is pictured in the Tuesday outreach in Riccarton.
We both continue to mine the gold seam that is online evangelism. I’ve selected a few of the recent snapshots from conversations we’ve been having. I esp. like the one where they said they have started going to a Presbyterian church, even though they’d prefer to be going to a Baptist one! ;) So encouraging that they understand the importance of being part of a local church!

Operation 513 Battle Log for Sunnybank on Wednesday January 5th, 2022 from 1300 - 1500
Today I teamed up with Gary who volunteered to resume our regular Street Ministry at Sunnybank. Actually, he started readily yesterday to put up signs to attract people’s attention around his home as there were congestion everywhere because of long queue for Covid-19 testing amidst the outbreak of Omicron in Qld.
Today, there was apparent less human flow at the Sunny Plaza side bus stop that used to be full of people. But it was good enough for me and Gary to handle one after the others with intermittent rejection cases. Recap below is Battle Log of Hung. And thanks be to Gary taking many photo for me while I was sharing the gospel.
1. First, I approached a Thai lady who claimed to have received our tract, but when I asked if she had read it at home then she said she did not as she is a pious Buddhist thus not felt right to read tract of other religion. I quickly endorsed that Buddhism and many other religions are good but only good at teaching people to be a good man. None of them address the issue of sin like Christianity. Sin must be punished and Jesus is the only hope for sinners including all the Good Persons, to have taken over the punishment of our sin as such we are deemed clean and right for reconnecting with God to let Him start the life. transformation work in us through the work of the Holy Spirit. Her bus arrived and she had to go but showed great appreciation for my clarification and explanation of the issue of salvation.
2. Then I approached a Muslim lady with a cross breed son who was a bit sceptical in the beginning but turned friendly to hear the gospel. Yet I did not have enough time to share but just left her with the conclusion that no one can go to heaven unless you are perfect.
3. Oliver is an ABC with parents from China. He listened patiently for my gospel but disclose he is readily a Christian. When I tested for his assurance of salvation and it was astonishingly 100% despite, he does not attend church. So, the good biblical teaching must be from his parents yet they also have stop attending church. So, it was a mystery about the real spiritual status of this Christian family.
4. Another Chinese look young man initially rejected both Gary and me. But, after a short while I tried to have casual chat with him for ice breaking, then our flood gate of conversation was opened to allow me to share my testimony first then the gospel how I was saved by grace through faith in Jesus. He actually is a Vietnamese having lived in Australia for 8 years and is now an Aussie citizen. His attitude changed from indifferent to deeply drawn to the life changing God. This obviously was the work of God.
5. Then I caught up with possibly another Vietnamese lady but the bud just arrived when I was about the start out gospel conversation. She anyway happily took a tract and promised to read at home. I pray that she will not put it aside with the same thought that she is a Buddhism girl as such Christianity is not right for her.
6. Cooper an elderly Samoan lady who quickly declared she is a Christian. I then checked her assurance of salvation which was not quite correct claiming she will go to heaven by complying with the ten commandment. So her faith was built on work rather than grace through faith in Christ. After clarification, she was glad to find out and understand that her basis of salvation is completely dependent on Jesus.
7. Liz a young UQ student from Ching Xin, China釿…¶ who was rejective initially，最åˆæ‹’絕,but later after ice breaking chat that I identified with her home town that I once went there for earthquake relief in 2018, she turned very friendly right away and let me share my life testimony as well as the gospel which finally she admits she need to explore and ponder on the implication to her life.
8. Li æŽï¼Œanother young UQ student from Shanghai China.上海姑娘. Again, I identified with her birth place that I once was the pioneer visitor from Hong Kong almost 50 years ago. She was drawn into my life with the presence and guidance of God. So She left as another happy girl readily with the seed of Gospel sowed in her heart.
9. Then I turned around to speak with another girl from main land China. I was not aware of her boyfriend initially while I had very good and interactive conversation with her. Thanks God that only after I finished sharing that her boyfriend reacted irrationally, grasped the tract I gave to the girl from her hand and rudely thrown them into the garbage bin 。The girl was embarrassed for what her boy friend had done but remain polite to le t me wrap up our conversation with a blessing for her the humble and willing listener.
10. Finally, a Chines man who had just taken an English tract from Gary but was OK to chat with me about the tract. Yet the bus came to cut off this conversation, so just pray the tract will do the job

Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong on Tuesday January 4th , 2022 from 1330 – 1500
After just a week of rest for the last week of 2021, Winnie and Hung decided to resume our weekly outreach at Toowong in the beginning of 2020 as a gesture our steadfast commitment to put God first in doing His work to preach the Gospel to people of all Nations. The weather fluctuated drastically during our short ministry hours, with scorching sun burning hot the cement ground like a furnace at a moment, and a cosy shaded sky at another moment. The human flow was much less due to Uni terms break and the rapid growth of Omicron cases. Often time, only one person turned up as such I normally will let Winnie to handle it. Despite of all these, the evidences of God’s work through us were prominent. Recap below are the Battle Log of Hung and Winnie: -
I approached two ladies with one Aussie look and another Asian look. Nancy the Aussie Look girl said she got my tract before but I initially treated it as an excuse not to chat so I turned to the Asian girl whom I though is Chinese but I was wrong. When I shared the gospel to her using analogy of operation theatre that it has to be germless for the well fare sake of the patient, as if God is asking us to be perfect as the ultimate requirement to heaven, Nancy interject with a comment that perfection in God’s terms is we have to be sinless. I was overjoyed to hear that as she has really got and understood the message with the ability to add comment at the suitable time. Then the bus came and I pat on the shoulder of Nancy that now you can share what you have learnt from me to your Asian friend possibly a Korean girl.
Ricardo was an UQ student from Mexico who was indifferent to my approach for gospel sharing. But once I connected with him that my father was born in Mexico and I still have some relatives living in Mexico, then he turned 180 degrees appearing very receptive for a chat. Prise and thanks God I could have sufficiently long time to share about the salvation brought by Jesus and my own testimony. At the end, he was more than delighted to take a photo with me and promised to read the tract and ponder seriously the need to accept Jesus.
Trisha turned up while I was talking with Ricardo and waited for her turn to have our final conversation before she and her family relocate to Sydney next week. God makes us friend and she was impressed by our steadfast faith and commitment to share the good news. She seriously asked me to pray for herself a pregnant mum, her family, her husband and her young son.
Then I met up with Mr Tang鄧,from Guang Zhou廣州,so he is Cantonese speaking.粵 It was a pity the bus came almost right away that I can only leave with him the conclusion that no one can go to heaven unless you are perfect.
Finally I approached an Indian girl who politely indicated to me to wait until she finished her phone call. The Chance was thrashed by the arrival of the bus so all I can do was to hand her a tract.

The last half of 2021 certainly has been memorable here in Toowoomba. We’ve engaged in a number of big events and we’ve had some good discussions with people on the street.
Two members of our team met an atheist during one outreach. This man was very quite set in his ways and quite hostile to the existence of God or the Gospel. We did our best to respectfully listen and gently challenge some of his underlying assumptions but he was adamant about the truth of his position. It’s always difficult to know whether such an attitude is just a “public front” or whether someone is genuinely set in their ways and further conversation is futile.
This time around we spent a fair bit of time talking with him and eventually chose to wrap up the conversation. We hope to meet him again someday and have a deeper discussion about the things that really matter in life.
Another conversation we had was with an older gentleman who goes to a local liberal/progressive church. By liberal/progressive I mean a church that denies some significant aspects of the Christian faith in favour of more “modern” understandings that directly and self-consciously deny the Bible’s truthfulness on particular issues.
We spoke with him at length and the man was open to discussing some of the important differences between Biblical/Apostolic Christianity and modern liberal/progressive groups. It was a blessing to speak with him and to have someone so open to hearing alternative opinions. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to speak to his heart long after our conversation. We also pray
that this bloke will find a Church that is grounded in God’s Word and that will lovingly embrace this man in his spiritual journey.
The final conversation (that I have space to share) was with a young guy who was really struggling with life. One of our team members found him sitting by himself and spent a significant amount of time chatting with him. The young guy really appreciated the talk and afterwards said he would like to learn about the Bible more. He exchanged numbers with us and we wished him well. Since that time we’ve tried to get in contact with him but to no avail.
This may seem disheartening at first, but those of us who have been involved in this ministry long enough know that our work is to care for every person we meet. If we were able to provide a listening ear that helped “take the edge off” the difficult situation the young man was facing..even just for a few minutes..it is worth it. We hope and pray that things work out for this young guy and that one day we will hear the story of how Jesus transformed his life for the better.
On another note, this semester was also our busiest time of the year with the Carnival of Flowers, Gospel of Luke Distribution and Christmas Lights Outreach.
The Carnival of Flowers was absolutely huge. It was possibly the biggest Carnival of Flowers we’ve ever experienced and there were people literally everywhere. After lockdowns and the challenges of 2021, every man and his dog decided to come to the Carnival of Flowers this year. I’ve attached some photos to this report and needless to say, we were able to give out a lot of Gospel tracts!
Our second major outreach was the Toowoomba Christmas Wonderlands show in Queens Park. This beautiful event attracts people from all over the region and we were able to hand out 1600 Christmas Gospel tracts over two nights. We’re extremely thankful for the chance to share the good news of Jesus at this very topical time of year!
The final big event we engaged in was the Gospel of Luke distribution efforts across Australia. The Australian Christian Lobby fund-raised and then supplied half a million copies of Luke’s Gospel to be shared across the nation at the end of 2021. Our team spread our efforts between conventional street evangelism and distributing Luke’s Gospel to homes across a number of suburbs in North Toowoomba. We had a number of outside helpers as well which made a significant difference.
All in all, it has been a big year. God has been good, His news of hope and freedom has gone forth and we pray for a mighty work of God in our community in 2022!
