Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong Village on Tuesday November 17 , 2020 from 1330 to 1500
After a stormy day yesterday, God gave us a sunny day with mild sun shine not that scorching hot for street evangelism. The Christmas holiday mood has also crept in affecting people's response to Gospel in a mixed fashion. Some die hard Atheist would strictly reject any form of Christian gospel approach. But some including secularized people without faith or of other faith will tend to be more open and tolerant to the greeting of Merry Christmas. Johnny brought along the Christmas tracts which served best for this purpose. I have maximized its effectiveness by asking a follow up question after extending to the gospel target "Merry Christmas" The question is " Why we greet each other for the Christmas festivity by saying "Merry" but not "Happy Christmas" I learnt this gimmick few years ago and have been using it for gospel sharing during Christmas time. It all stems from an ancient Christmas Carol with the first verse as "God rests Ye Merry, Gentlemen; Let's nothing you dismay: ..... So "Merry" in the the olden English does not mean happy and is used as a noun meaning "power rendered as a gift by God." And this gift of power actually refers to the birth of Jesus to become a perfect man but died on the cross according to His plan to take our place to receive the punishment of sin of eternal suffering in the lake of Fire in Hell. Most people will find it amazing to learn about this biblical history of the word "Merry". IN the nine divine appointment I got to day as recap below, yu will find how often I use this gimmick to start the chat even facing initial rejection.
1) George a slide back local Aussie Christian who was baptized as a baby but having showed no sign of born again and is completely without assurance of salvation. I quickly led him to revisit the mechanism of salvation that it was all made possible by the sacrificial death of Jesus to take our place to receive the punishment of sin. So it is 100% the credit of Jesus's work but none on our work. He gladly thanks me for this clarification.
2) Shinee an UQ master of Electrical Engineering and father from India took the Christmas tract from Johnny so I followed up asking if I could share with them about this tract. They show initial no interest but I used the Merry Christmas Gimmick to let them ask me back why. To my great surprise, the Hindu daughter answered in glee that it means God, which is correct along the line that it represents the gift of God as kind of power from Christ to bring us eternal life. I told the father that Shinee should need no more Christmas gift as she has already got the most precious and eternal one from Christ. Though there was not enough time for me to elaborate more on the gospel which I believe the tract will help them to understand more. But I could feel God has readily captured the heart of Shinee with the backing of the father. Their mood was so high that they felt comfortable to take selfie with me even the bus already arrived.
3) An Old Aussie fellow knows the merry Christmas Carol but not t he biblical meaning and traditions. He really show great amazement to learn about this facts. Again the bus came too quick for me to elaborate more.
5) Heidi a Catholic Christian from Peru originally showed no interest so she rejected Winnie. I used the Merry Christmas Gimmick to break the ice and had a meaningful chat to find out her understanding of salvation is incomplete and without assurance. She was grateful after hearing my clarification.
6) Sylvester from Kenya, was responsive to my approach and was willing to have a chat. But again the bus spoiled my chance though he took a tract and would read it later. I had a gut feeling he is a Christian.
7) A Girl from China responded to my Merry Christmas greeting which allowed me to have a short but useful chat with her about the Gospel.
8) A die heart young man looks like Chinese but appeared to be English speaking. He turned down Winnie, declined to chat with Johnny and finally still gave me a cold face despite I greeted him with Merry Christmas. But God made him to take a Christian tract finally from Johnny.
9) Another lady from China initially also rejected both Winnie and Johnny but I gave it a go while she was waiting before the traffic light to greeted her "Merry Christmas" then asking the follow up question. She was glad to learn about this and was soften to talk but the traffic light turn green that she had to go. Pray that God will have follow up work on her.

Operation 513 Battle Log for Sunnybank on Wednesday Dec 9, 2020 from 1300 to 1500
Andrew possibly was still caught up at Chinchilla for training. Instead God moved Gary to come with three big Gospel Signs to team up with Johnny and Hung. Today we served basically on the Eastern side of main road outside of the car park of Sunny Park. Again there was good team work amongst us that we swapped position when one of us was led to chat with some one away from our primary post. All of us had got many conversations. For me I had 5 conversations which were obviously spirit led divine appointments as recap below: -
1) Brendon’s a handsome Aussie boy was waiting for his girl friend, it gave me time to share the full gospel to him. He claimed he knows the gospel but don’t like organized religion. However, he admitted gospel itself is sensible, logical and convincing enough for anyone to accept. He still repeat his problem of not accepting to follow any organized religious activity. It was a pity I could not further our discussion on his religious Phobia complex as his girl friend arrived.
2) A couple boy & girl friend declined the tract from Johnny but the boy accept my tract when they passed by me. An hour later they returned but did not stop though the boy promised he will read the tract.
3) A lady by the name Julie from Taiwan was in a hurry but I still managed to walk her across the foot bridge. After hearing the nutshell of Gospel, she declared she is Christian attending St Mark Lutheran Church. So I switched to test her assurance of salvation which she failed initially. Yet after clarification ,she understood and assured me now that she has 100% assurance of salvation.
4) Messi and other two High School students are from Beijing. They could not go home for the summer holiday because of Covic-19. They form small community group to live together and support each others. Initially, they were not taking it too seriously but God soften their heart especially Messi. I appealed to them to accept Jesus by faith which is even more important than their high school study with life long impact to them and their family.
5) Then I followed up approaching a group of four teenagers Aussie after Johnny and Gary have had a go. They appeared not taking the gospel message seriously but joking around making fun of Jesus. I stood my ground to show them this is a serious life and death issue if they do not realize they are sinner and will be subject to eternal death punishment unless they accept Jesus as their saviour to have died for their sins. Some of them started to change their attitude and respond to the gospel when the bus came. So, I can only let go and leave God to follow up on them.
6) 方俊雅 is a cheerful young girl from Shen Zhen深圳, China。She was locating the bus stop to go home as she has just moved up from the Gold Coast. Gary might have approached her but ignored by her as she was still busy in locating the bus stop on her iphone. Thus when I tried to approach her, she shook her head without looking at me. I asked why she shook her head even without looking up to know who was trying to talk to her. Then I noticed the reason of her frustration and quickly helped her to locate the bus stop on Mc McCullough Road outside Time Square. I offered to walk her to the bus stop to ensure she will not lose her way home. Then we started this longest conversation from 1445 to 1500. I found out that she is from a Christians Family in China, but she does not attend church as frequent and regularly as her Christian Nanny. After coming to Australia, she first studied and lived in teh Gold Coast. Her friend brought her to attend Gold Coast Logos Christian Church. And possibly she will be introduced to one of the Logos congregation in Brisbane. In term of salvation, she is clear about her assurance of salvation but not clear about the reason was because of Jesus and him alone through his atoning death apart from believing in God. God used me to give here a big discipleship lesson until her bus come.

Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong Village on Dec 8, 2020 from 1330 -1500.
It was a very fine afternoon with cloud blocking the fierce summer sun and cool breeze blowing through the bus stop area. Johnny joined us after a week of family holiday to form the regular team of three. Again God used us to form good team work. Johnny was the frontline person making the first contact with many gospel targets though resulted in initial rejection yet many of them will change their mind and let us have a chat with some of them when they got to the bus stop. I gave most of the opportunities to Winnie first as my mouth is still tend to be too dry for long chat. Nevertheless, I still manged to have 6 divine appointments as recap below: -
1) A Chinese student rejected Johnny's tract then me as well later at the bus stop. I still managed to be friend with him and finally he took the tract when the bus came.
2) An Indian man approached by Winnie first but declined to chat. Yet later when I noticed he read the tract right away. So I tried to approach him which he responded positively for a chat. Unfortunately, the arrival of the bus cut our conversation short.
3) Johnny from è˜å·ž Lanzhou and his girl friend from 西寧 were initially approached by Johnny Hiseh. Johnny was fine for a chat but here girl friend dragged him away. When they got to the bus stop, I let Winnie to approach them first. But God moved me to join them when I heard them asking if Winnie is form Hong Kong. As soon as I join them and knew that Johnny is from Lanzhou, we connected right away. He claimed he is atheist and I did not rebuke this as it is a choice of freedom of religion. After a brief relationship building, I was able to share the nutshell of the gospel to him and he did listen attentively. 無神論 Meantime, Winnie told me that the girl friends actually has more Christian background claiming she has read the whole Bible yet she show comparatively more rejection that her atheist boyfriend.
4) Then came Allan the Catholic background Christian. Yet he is a fans of OPN 513 and he has been attracted to watch the online evangelism posted on Needgod.com. He is a spirit filled person. He said before he cross the road , he saw Johnny he felt the Spirit told him Johnny is the Operation 513 team member. So he took a few tracts from Johnny but did not stop to chat with him. Rather, when he walked toward the bus stop , he immediately identified me as the OPN 513 people so he showed delightful expression and point toward the sky to God which I did not understand initially. But when I saw him read the tracts he got from Johnny then I was moved to approached him. I did the assurance of salvation diagnosis and found him 100% clear about his salvation. Despite of his Catholic background, his disciple training material and program are all from the protestant camp. I asked him about the view on Mary that Catholic people used to think she was a divine figure second only to God and Jesus that deserved worship. Allan clearly said no and affirm many of his fellow Catholic Christian share the same view. So it was a real comfort to know about the real modern Catholic view of Bible doctrine and theological issues. I encourage him to join our street evangelism perhaps at King George Square.
5) Two guys initially had rejected Winnie for a chat. But I approached them again adn found that they had chats with the KGS team many times before. I anyway followed up to check his feedback and was delighted to fnd that at least he admitted being a good person alone is not enough to save us from hell punishment.
6) Finally I chatted with a guy and he also said he got tract hand had chat with our KGS team. I still managed to refresh his memory on the need for Jesus to take our place to receive eternal death punishment at hell before the bus came.

On Thursday I completed two years being supported by God, through Operation 513, as a full time street evangelist. And today I started my third year. Wow. Time goes fast. I knew it was going to be hard work, I knew I would have to treat it like a marathon - and discipline myself. I remember once, early on, on a Friday - my longest day - lying on my bed exhausted and having to face getting up for a two hour evening outreach. It was the hardest thing to will myself on to my feet and go. But with God’s help, I did it. Routine has helped. Breaking my outreaches into two hour chunks and focusing on getting through that two hours has helped. Focusing on getting through a week and to my day off has helped. Letterbox dropping has helped - letterboxes don’t talk back. The discovery of online evangelism was a real blessing - I now don’t have to go out on those really wet and windy days. Over the two years I’ve adjusted, and it has become easier. I’m now okay with going out alone - in fact I often prefer it. The weeks are starting to glide by. Removing unnecessary distractions has helped. God’s word has helped, prayer has helped, my family has helped, my friends, my church family. God has helped - enabled and provided. Glory to him alone!
I still remember my first day quite clearly. I started with outreach near the hospital. Two years later and we are regularly bringing the gospel to the issue of abortion at the same spot. I remember talking to a “suit” at the end of that first day. Suits don’t often stop to chat about the deep things of life, so I was very encouraged when he did. I actually saw him again a few months ago, and I approached him and thanked him for the encouragement he gave me on that day!
What will the future hold? God knows. Whatever it is, it will be for his glory and our good. Soli Deo Gloria!
Anyway, Thursday I was online in the morning before joining Andy at Northlands and then Eastgate.
Two conversations online, the first was with a young lady who was mildly uncomfortable with the conversation, but was curious enough to stay to hear the law and the gospel. The second one was with another young lady who had a Greek Orthodox background. She became very engaged and we had a long gospel chat. Lord save them!
At Northlands Andy and I had numerous opportunities to talk to people about the gospel. Many of them had know idea what Christmas was truly about! We decided to head to Eastgate a little early. As I was walking off, I passed some people and handed out some tracts. One of them looked eager to talk, and so I stopped. He was indeed keen to chat. He had a Christian background, but the gospel wasn’t clear to him. It became clear that he wasn’t a Christian, but by the end of the chat, with joy, he was saying he was 100% certain he was going to heaven. What was really funny was that as soon as I was ready to explain the fireman analogy, a fire engine with lights flashing and sirens blazing went past. It was a wonderful chat! Praise God.
At Eastgate, Andy had a similar kind of conversation with a young guy. Glory to God alone.
Today started with the gospel + abortion outreach. Four of us, and eight counter protesters. It wasn’t as hard as last week, because we weren't being verbally attacked all the time. But there was a tension with the unspoken conflict. At the very beginning, I was there on my own with two of them. And they would talk in front of me, baiting me. It took a lot of will power to hold my tongue! I knew if I responded, it wouldn’t lead to a respectful conversation.
Later, one of the counter protesters turned up with a sign that on the back said: “F*&! You Glen”. I had to look at that for a while in silence.
The first hour dragged on. My mouth was dry from the tension. And I prayed a lot. Mainly for the counter protesters, that they would receive the mercy of God and not the justice of God. That they would have an opportunity to hear the gospel. I was pretty sure I wasn’t going to get the opportunity today! But, I was wrong. God answered my prayer. I don’t know how it lead to it, but I ended up declaring: “Gay Lives Matter”. It shocked everyone into silence, and the counter protesters looked at me. So I continued, saying that is why I’m here. Everyone is precious, including the unborn, including homosexuals. I was able to clarify that, even though homosexuality is a wicked sin, we are commanded to love all. And Jesus died for the wicked so they could be forgiven and changed. Some kind of barrier came down, and it opened up opportunities for dialog with those in front of me. I did my best to answer their questions faithfully. Multiple times I was able to touch on the gospel. It was a wonderful second hour! Still difficult, still tension, still disagreement - but there was a level of respect coming from both sides. The sun came out, and they didn’t have sunscreen. I was able to give them some of mine - and they accepted it. Oh, Romans 10:1!!!
We invited them to the speaker's corner to heckle us as we preached the gospel. Two of them did. Andy preached long, and attracted some other hecklers too! He did a great job.
Later we were in Cashel Mall - Roger joined us. One of the counter protesters came past and ended up having a chat with Roger (I joined, and it didn't end well, they stormed off in hatred and anger).
Earlier, I had quite a few great opportunities to share the gospel, with an Atheist. With a Christian who wasn’t but thought about what happens after life all the time - he super appreciated the conversation where he came to understand the gospel. There were other good chats too.
I finished up with two hours online. Six gospel conversations - some of them were amazing. One lady seemed to be weeping and wiping away tears as she came to understand the gospel (she was a church goer). A Hindu grasped the gospel and said I was like a god to him - I was quick to dispel that thinking! A Trump supporter who was Christian but wasn’t, came to understand the gospel. And then I finished with an epic chat with two girls who thought keeping the ten commandments would get them to heaven, but heard the gospel! They were deeply impacted.
Lord, this is hard work, there is much opposition, and it’s only going to get worse. Help us to continue, and as it gets darker, may your light shine brighter. May lives start changing through the power of your gospel, for your glory alone. Your kingdom come, your will be done. Amen.

At our last outreach, the team met for a time of evangelism. While only a few people were open to actually talking, we were encouraged by the number of Gospel tracts distributed. As some of the team wandered around to hand out tracts and talk to anyone interested, others of us manned the literature table, or positioned ourselves near the flipchart to pass out literature to passers-by.
There were several encouraging conversations throughout the afternoon, including one with a young Asian woman who read a tract given to her and then came over to do the Good Person test. There were also some young people with whom a team member was able to engage, as well as a Syrian gentleman.
While the afternoon appeared to be quieter than usual, we do pray that God would use our efforts to grow His church. We pray for results to spring from that scattering of the Gospel seed through tracts. We pray that hearts will be touched, especially those who have now heard the Gospel or received tracts numerous times. May many of our “jetty locals” be brought to faith through the power of the Word of God, and may Christ’s kingdom spread here at Bribie Island.

Operation 513 Battle Log for Sunnybank on Wednesday Dec 2, 2020 from 1300 to 1500
It was another day of grace to serve God without the usual team support by Johnny as he is still away on a family leisure trip. Instead, God moved Andrew to keep joining me at Sunnybank. We formed great teamwork by taking different strategic positions. Andrew stationed at the foot of the pedestrian bridge where he can get longer conversations. I take position at the bus stop with more chances to share but are of short conversation because of the frequent arrival of buses. Some people took a tract from Andrew but did not stop yet coming directly to the bus stop. I can then target them especially those who were moved to read the tract immediately at the bus stop. Another thanks giving point was that there was shade and good breeze on the eastern side of the foot bridge despite weather forecast projected a higher temperature over 35c. Recap below are the 10 divine appointments I had today.
1)Mr Fong æ–¹ whom I met frequently here at Sunnybank, but I never was told he is a Christian as my question for him about salvation shows he was alost ignorance about salvation. But today I greeted him and care about the scar line on his head caused by a open head operation. I induced him to think about eternal life issue as temporal life is vulnerable. å‹•é 手術, æ›´ç惜生命
Then he told me he is a Christian of a very prominent denomination in HKG (The Evangelical church of HKG香港æ’铿œƒ),He had to attend a medical appointment so I had to let him go and pray for next time to strengthen his faith.
2)倚綺 Ekky is a Malaysian Chinese é¦¬è¯ from KL. She could speak 5 language including Cantonese, so we can have a very stress free chat in our own local dialect. she has no faith and seemingly first time hearing the gospel. But she found it sensible and logical. She did not rush to leave even when her bus arrived and let me continue to do my wrap up. As a result, I had more time to share with her and hopefully, God will move her to take her first step of faith in no time.
3) Then I was rejected by an old and young man which was also within our prayer that may the Spirit lead us to waste no time on those who overtly reject the Gospel.
4) Then I shared with Ah Lin é˜¿ç³ from Hong Kong 香港. So again I can speak in my mother tongue. She showed no obvious sense of rejection of the Gospel despite she very soon indicated she is a Buddhist. 佛教徒. The bus came very quickly 車到太快, so I only managed to share her the nutshell of the Gospel.
5) Then came two young man å…©é’年,one of them took a tract from Andrew . So I hook up with him and volunteer to discuss the tract with him. He showed genuine willingness to listen but the arrival of the bus cut short this divine appointement.願æ„è½ä½†è»Šå¾ˆå¿«ä¾¿åˆ°äº†. Trust God may have His follow up work.
6) Lee, possibly from Taiwan was polite when I approached him. But again there was not enough time to share as his bus came very quickly. Pray that God has His follow up work.
7) Rebecca is from Eastern Malaysia. She has no faith but show interest to listen. Again just have limited time to touch on the nutshell of the Gospel.
8) Stephen has an Indian look but he has a Filipino Mum and an Aussie Dad of Christian Family ground. But he doesn't go to church any more hope being discouraged by below par Christian witness. At the end, he joyously decided he should attend church again. It is a new start for him.
9) An UQ student Zhang 張,from æ±åŒ— China ,He said some OPN 513 guy talked to him at King George Square. I went through the gospel message with him again and introduced him to join Power to Change.
10) Finally John a big guy but behaved politely. He listened to my gospel sharing with patience, but at the end he told me he was once Christian now Muslim. It was a pity I did not have any more time to clarify the reason of the switch and bring him back to the core message of the Gospel.
Battle Log by Andrew
On Wednesday at Sunnybank, there were a couple of great conversations where people grasped the gospel.
A pair of 17 year old young guys who attend a Christian school stopped to chat. They knew a lot about the gospel but were very unsure why God should let them into heaven. I took them through the law and was just starting to go through the gospel when their bus came, but both took tracts and thanked me for stopping them.
Declan called himself a Christian but when I asked about what would get him to heaven, he appealed to his own good works. I ran him through the gospel at length and eventually shared that I was very concerned that he was not saved because he was trusting in the wrong thing to save him. He admitted that even though he used the label, he was not a “good Christian” and had not been to church in a long time and no longer owned a Bible. I was able to provide him a Bible from the Bible Society Australiaand also pointed him to a good church.
Francis was raised a bit religious but admitted he was pretty sceptical about it all. We talked through how we know that God exists and then through the gospel at length. After I took him through the law, he agreed that we are all not good enough to get to heaven. I shared what Jesus had done and about how he calls us to surrender to his rule. He seemed to grasp the gospel well and said that he now had a lot to consider.
Please pray for these guys and the many more who received tracts.

On Tuesday I was online before joining Roger in Riccarton in the afternoon.
My first chat was with a lady who was mildly intrigued by my question about what comes after life. She tracked with me all the way up to the point where I explained that Jesus died on the cross for our sins - and then she suddenly disconnected. I’m sure she had her reasons - I hope it wasn’t because of rejection, but that’s what it seemed like.
My very next chat was with another lady - similar age to the previous chat. There seemed to be a resistance about her, but she didn’t bail on me, she stayed with me to the end - she seemed deeply challenged, but thanked me.
Next up was a young man who said I was the first over 40 (yes, he did a good job at guessing my age!) that hadn’t skipped me. He was glad, because he wants to talk to everyone. I was glad too, because I wanted to share the gospel with him. It was a great chat. He had a Catholic background and came to grasp the gospel of Jesus and justification by faith alone. Praise God, he said there was nothing stopping him from accepting the gift of Jesus - through faith alone. I left him in God’s hands, after pointing him to the Bible and a good local church.
A young man, very postmodern (what’s true for you is true for you, what’s true for me is true for me). He made it through the logic for God and justice, but couldn’t cope and so disconnected. May he ponder this and have future opportunities to engage with the gospel - maybe from you?
Yet another young man. Was being a bit silly early on, but he sobered up as the conversation progressed. He came to grasp the gospel and seemed genuinely appreciative for the chat.
The final online chat was with a young lady - potentially a Catholic background. She answered my initial question by saying that nobody knows what happens after life - but then she mentioned she was a Christian. I slowly started introducing logic for her to ponder, and she became engaged, although distant. Her facial expressions confirmed her surprise at the gospel. She understood, but was her thinking positive or negative?
The outreach at Riccarton was wonderful. One of the people working for Unicef was at my usual spot, so I went and set up at Rogers usual spot. Roger and I ended up working together at the same spot - which was a nice change. And we had a busy outreach.
I had quite a few good conversations early on. The first I’ll mention was with a young lady studying criminal justice (I think it was). So the logic of ultimate justice clicked with her - even if she disagreed with it! She was very pleasant, and stayed to hear the gospel. She left with a Christmas tract.
Later we had two young men stop to chat. Both with a Christian background. One was very resistant to the gospel - arguing with Roger. While that was happening, I engaged the other guy, who had a reasonable grasp of the gospel. But it was clear he wasn’t a Christian - even to him. He wasn’t trusting in Jesus, he was trusting in himself. Sadly, he seemed quite dead to the conversation - so after a good discussion, I decided to back off. Yet, with a fresh reminder of the gospel, may he be made alive in Christ. Such a miracle is possible for God!
Another guy came past who seemed very happy to see me. I remembered that I’d talked to him a couple of weeks prior. I remember that he had wanted to talk, but his friends left him and he had to catch up. The same thing happened today! But he was really keen to talk. I told him how he can contact me - and pleaded with him to do so, because my checking question confirmed that he thought good deeds would get him to heaven. God, may I have a follow up opportunity with him where he will come to understand the gospel!
On Wednesday I was online again. And my first conversation was gold! Pure gold. He really appreciated my opening question. And he said, “I’ve been thinking about that for years - I really don’t know”. Based on that, I decided to go right to the start. He believed in God - but I still gave him the building / builder analogy. He was very sharp, and understood the whole analogy before I’d even quarter explained it. He was an open mind from then on, he followed the logic from there flawlessly, and he perfectly understood the gospel - checking questions confirming. So in the end I simply asked him what was stopping him from accepting the gospel right now. He seemed to have an epiphany and then disconnected before I could give him any follow up information! He is totally in God's hands.
A great chat with a Christian kid who was clearly not a Christian. He came to understand the gospel, and indicated that from now he wanted to be one! During the conversation I was trying to work out what kind of church he was a part of. He couldn’t remember, but the church building was two minutes from his house, so he ran down to check - while I was talking to him! It was Presbyterian. I encouraged him back to his Bible and to talk to his Nana (who he lived with) and his church leaders.
Next up a fantastic chat with a Muslim from Dubai. He was also very open to the gospel. Checking questions confirming. He had a lot of questions around how we know God exists.
My last chat was with a girl who’s issue was why is Christianity against homosexuality. I was able to address the question without compromise, and yet get her to open up to a great gospel chat.
I’m very grateful for all the opportunities to share the gospel - I have mentioned all of them from the two days. God you are so good. Lord, save your elect, and demonstrate your mercy. Either way, you will do right by demonstrating your justice. Your name will forever be praised. You, alone, are good!

It was a challenging day with Hung and Winnie only to serve at Toowong while Johnny was on family trip at interstate. The temperature soared up to 33C or even higher around our street evangelism venue with lot of concrete building around. It seriously affected the mood of the pedestrians to stop for a chat. Every one wanted to hide and stay under the limited shade behind the Bus stop. But the grace of God was sufficient that some rejected us initially had changed their heart to have a chat with us with mixed result in God's hand according to His plan. At the end, I have 8 conversations while Winnie had 6 as recapped below.
1) Middle Eastern young man who claimed to have chatted with me before, but I nevertheless still made a revision on the Good Person issue with him to refresh his memory on the need to trust in Jesus.
2)Woman in red reject to chat but later soften to take a tract to read.
3)Teresa a local Aussie lady immediately recognized me and even repeat the question I asked her as a Christian. So there was not much need for a revision as the bus came soon.
4) Sarah a Vietnam/ Australian cross breed from a Christian family of Anglican background. She was approached by Winnie first. She has the basic understanding of Christian faith though still falling short of 100 % assurance of salvation. But she got the point after my minor effort of clarification.
5) A Muslim Couple with Husband called Mohammad who appeared friendly for a chat. He has some trivial knowledge of Christianity, as such he expects us to have basic knowledge of the Islamic faith as well. I admitted this attitude of openness but after all there is absolute truth that cannot be comprised. Then our conversation was ended at this point in time when the bus arrived.
6) An Indian UQ student named Sign stopped for a short chat under the scorching sun. THe heat really did not good for mood to learn and share. He after all was patience enough to finish hearing the gospel.
7) A Chinese couple were happy to chat which was rare. But by the grace of God, I finished the sharing of the nutshell of Gospel emphasizing that the ultimate requirement for heaven is perfection.
8) Finally, a UQ student Jia Jia, who was born in Beijing China but has been brought up here as an ABC who took a tract and read it immediately despite initial rejection to chat. After he finished reading, I was able to connect with him to have a chat to go deeper in the issue of sin and judgement. He ended up greatly impressed by the message.

Posted 1 December 2020, 4:06 PM by Martin Park. PermalinkOn Saturday, by God's grace, we had 4 laborers. Melbourne team normally meet from 3pm to 6pm but for this Saturday, we outreached from 5:30pm - 8:30pm, Suprisingly, there were lots of people and they were willing to engage in conversation.
As expected, there were people who were drunk and tipsy as time went on. Many people showed interest in doing 'Good person test' , some laughed at gospel, few believed the gospel and some opposed the gospel but praise God for His faithfulness for giving each one of us strength to boldly proclaim the gospel for His glory and people's salvation.
I met quite a few couples who were interested in doing Good person test, I remember a tipsy couple, who took the test and the lady was drunk and very honest with her sins as i went through the law.. as i shared the glorious gospel and asked her when she is going to believe that Jesus died she answered "Now" and she answered the checking questions well even her boyfriend seemed very convinced and grasped the idea of justification by faith. please pray for this couple as you are reading this
There was another couple (in the main photo) who were kind and there were very reactive (also, lots of very cool hand gestures :) ). As I shared the law and the gospel, they came to understand that we are saved by grace through faith in Christ and they told me that they are church goers. And through this conversation, they understood the gospel clearly and properly praise God for that !. Funny thing was that, as they realised i was from originally from South Korea, they gave Korean style 'Heart' gesture as you can see in the photo. Overall, What a joy it was !!!
I also met a married couple who were very kind and gracious in the way they approached me. They showed much interest in doing 'Good Person Test' so as I shared the law, both of them answered honestly to the questions but when I was about to share death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, the lady said "but.. grace" and hinted about Jesus and that point I knew that they were Christians after I did checking questions. They said "This was the best gospel sharing method I have heard so far" and they told me that they attend City on a Hill church !. They gave me great encouragement and appreciation. I pray that this couple will be encouraged to share the gospel where God has place them.
From Huy Do:-
This outreach has been tremendously blessed by the Lord, during this day, God has showered me with countless blessings, so much so that I cannot exhaust it in this report alone, I will only then in this report focus on evangelism with the team. The Lord in the past weeks has drawn crowds, but not as many and the crowds that were drawn were rather small, but this week, He has blessed us with much. The first conversation God drew quite a crowd and many came to hear and they understood what was spoken, I beseeched them to repent and believe and they understood that it was a free gift. Yet during it all a man walked passed with his friends and I asked if he wanted to take the test, he was quite reluctant, but decided to talk anyways. I took him through the chart and by the end I asked him “if Jesus pays for all your penalty, then can God let you go?” - he replied “yes”, then I asked “if God lets you go then where do you go” - he replied “heaven”, but the honey is in this, I asked him “when will you trust that Christ alone died for your sins?” - he replied “right now”. Praise the Lord, I asked where he came from and he said that he lived in Bundoora, I curiously followed up and said “that’s where La Trobe University is” - he said that he goes to La Trobe University, the same university I go to. I traded numbers with him and we went on our ways, Praise the Lord for He has provided this man the opportunity to hear the Gospel, but also provided me the opportunity to follow up with him, his name is Ash, please pray for him that his profession is genuine. The next situation came when I preached to some kids who gathered, at first it was just three friends, around 12-14 years of age, they came and heard, but strangely, as I was taking them through the commandments a small group of kids, around 7-10 years of age were drawn and they flocked to the chart to listen. This was strange because of this, there was one particular asian kid, I know not his name, and it is as if he walked across, saw the cross on the chart, fixed his eyes on the chart and flocked with his friend to the chart. Usually when people see the cross, they flock to it to mock it, yet this young man flocked to it to listen and hear. After the conversation with the original 3 young men, this boy asked “so how does one go to hell?” - not out of mockery, but he was genuinely curious. I answered that “you continue on your way and there is where you will go” then replied that “yet if you run to Christ then He can save you”, to my heart’s joys, he replied “how must I run to CHrist?” - I said “believe that He died for your sins”. I asked if he understood, he said that he understood halfway, then I asked if he had a Bible, he didn’t so I ran and took a Bible to give to him and he left. Praise God that He has drawn people, pray for this young man, that he might be saved.
Overall,
I want to give all the glory to God knowing that it was HE who strengthened and enable us to do evangelise.
We are just unworthy servants that did what was commanded by our gracious King who saved us by Jesus' death and resurrection

The team (of there) from up North were with Andy and I again on Saturday - in Cashel Mall. There was some kind of Santa thing going on and there were lots of people out and about. We had some Christmas tracts - and they were all distributed in the morning.
But it was actually a surprisingly slow outreach. People were focused on what they were doing! In spite of this, I was able to have two solid gospel conversations in the morning.
The first was very interesting. A young guy in a hurry whizzed past, but stopped to take a Christmas tract. I didn’t think he’d stop, but I asked what he thought happened after life. To my surprise he did stop. He had a Hindu background and ended up staying for a long chat. What was interesting was that I had other people stop and take interest in the conversation (I was using the flip chat). Suddenly, one of the bystanders - a Christian - got involved. He was lovely, and very well meaning, but he had actually jumped in just as I was explaining the gospel and steered the conversation down a bit of a rabbit trial. I was able to gently take back control of the conversation and get it back to the gospel. I was then able to work some objections the guy had - I actually learnt some things about Hinduism in the process. The guy grasped the gospel well, but wasn’t ready to respond - yet I challenged him to do so.
The other chat was also very interesting. This time it was because the lady of the couple struggled to let go of the idea of her good deeds saving her. She was very attentive and engaged. But just didn’t grasp justification by grace alone through faith alone. Checking questions came to the rescue, so I continued to re-explain. She’d indicate that she understood, but another checking question and she would revert back to good works. Sadly, I’m not confident she was grasping it by the end. The guy with her was. Gladly, salvation is not dependent on me. May God use what I said, and may she have other opportunities to engage with the gospel.
After lunch, we spent another couple of hours in outreach. Emma had a fantastic conversation with two kids (pictured). I also had a long chat with two young Catholics who came to understand the gospel.
We finished up in Cathedral Square. I managed to engage with a young couple. The guy was giving pretty good answers to my initial questions: “believe in God” and then again later in the conversation after I’d been through the law and the gospel. I sensed that this guy had maybe been to a Christian camp, or been involved with a church - so I asked him about it. He looked at me and said, “Your name is Glen, right?”. I was shocked. It turns out I had talked to him before! Oh Lord, save people, for your glory. I can’t. I leave them in your hands. Lord, please help me to get better at explaining your gospel and representing you well. I need your help Lord!
On Sunday Andy and I had a couple of new church members join us in Cashel Mall for a couple of hours of outreach. One spent the time joining Andy to listen in on his gospel conversations. The other did a fantastic job handing out Christmas Tracts. Near the end of the outreach I fell into a great conversation with a young lady who had just received a pile of Hare Krishna books. The two church members were able to listen into this long chat (a friend of the young lady joined in as well.) After the conversation we were able to debrief and I got some fantastic feedback on how the young lady was misunderstanding something I was saying - and I didn’t even realise! The church member giving me the feedback had said she had wanted to jump in quite a few times! Now that I do so much evangelism on my own - I’m aware that I now find it hard to involve and encourage others. We talked about this. I gave the church member permission to jump in next time! It was so encouraging seeing the insight that others have that I don’t necessarily have. I want to encourage all Christians to get involved with the great commission - I can’t do this on my own, together we can do this. :)
